There isn't a "this story happened to me" subreddit left that isn't the most obvious, purestrain creative writing here in 2023.
There's 10+ stories per day on the front page about cartoon villain men, bosses, in-laws etc. that feature every hive-mind talking point ("my husband laughed at my rape tonight, he's a MAGA-supporting Andrew-Tate-fan Joe-Rogan-watching anti-vaxxer who hates cats and won't watch the new Barbie movie with me, what do you think reddit?") but still get voted to the sky because reddit's community of shut-in ideologues genuinely think this is how people are IRL.
