They're forcing you to log into the game if you want to watch the "premiere" of the Sojourn short, it's already up on YouTube though. Very bland but Murphy is cute.

Speaking of Sojourn, I'm trying her out a bit to learn her kit. Basically Soldier 76 with a tighter weapon spread, railgun charge and a slide ability.

That last point is probably the only thing a lot of people are going to remember from this franchise. For as much fun as I had the first few years of Overwatch, they just need to take the L and let this series die. But they won't - ActiBlizz will keep the zombie going entirely so they have new characters to make fags when the next controversy rolls around.

I feel I'm getting the hang of Sojourn's railgun. My aim needs work, espeically for her ultimate achievement (3 killing blows with one ultimate.) OW2 has a prop hunt gamemode now. I hate it.

Wait, FOUR? Jesus.

I'm surprised more people aren't talking about this. Supposedly these teams paid $20 million to get into the league. That's $20 million in pre-pandemic inflation.

That's an absolutely insane loss. $18 million gone in 5 years.

On topic, I haven't seen anyone post this podcast. One of the hosts was apparently a big part in the creation of the Overwatch League. It's really long but there's some funny stuff there if you keep it on in the background. Some of it might just be a funny reminder of dramas past.

Highlights include:
  • Overwatch League banning the use of Pepe citing it as an alt-right hate symbol. There were literal gustapo skimming through team org discords for pepes to report
  • Overwatch removing a police car from the scenery for Pride Month because "keep cops out of pride" while forgetting that Overwatch is meant to be a global police force in universe
  • Overwatch allegedly putting illegal salary caps on teams as a "luxury tax"

Since Overwatch 2 came out on Steam today I took a look at the store page for it. All of the content purchased through Steam is non-refundable. I was surprised to see this. Maybe they negotiated this as part of the publisher agreement, or maybe live service games not hosted on Steam servers use different rules?

I did. They're fine aside from 3/4 of them being locked behind a paywall. And of course the nice cutscenes - aka the actual story content - come with the missions you have to pay for, not the free one. You also have to play as literally every available hero for each mission if you want to unlock their "data", which is supplementary material. On one hand I think this was a stupid idea, but on the other, it forces you to learn heroes you've either never tried or aren't very good with.

The last mission ends on a cliffhanger with Talon approaching Zenyatta for some reason and it got me curious, ngl.

nobody thinks she's gay anyway. blizzard is a part of globohomo and globohomo wants tomboy and it's subtypes as gay or ftms.
their timing with this year's pride month was terrible. if you announce it right after canceling PvE, it will not cover it up. not to mention it was unneeded. you don't need to put such controversial event in the game when pride month is facing massive denial this year by whole world.

btw i've tried the game on steam yesterday. is it just me or i hardly get games at all? i've tried it 7 times and it says it found a game, then it proceeds to keep me in the menu and it just stops searching.

Yeah, I'm not paying $15 for four missions. Especially when the PvE is neutered from its original vision.

Talking about OW's monetization, there's an option to buy all original OW characters for $4.99. I'm conflicted. It's theoretically cheaper than OW1's $60 price tag. But, that's not factoring in the OW2 characters, the story missions and its abundance of cosmetics available in the shop.

I'm intrigued, I don't see the price as offensive in a vacuum but hot off the heels of "we can't do PVE sorry" announcement I'm shocked they released this. The small splash screen on Launcher loading into D4 and description of features is the first time Overwatch 2 has looked appealing, but I'm waiting for a few youtube videos before I even think of giving the Overwatch team install space again.
