The Ukrainians appear to have set up checkpoints on Ukrainian soil at all the official crossings, including for Poland. People leaving have to go through the Ukrainian side, then the Polish side, and the Ukrainians will not let men aged 18-60 leave the country, or people like CRP who have a pending court date. You can see all the people complaining on the Google Maps entries for the Ukrainian customs offices.
