The worst part is that I’m sure she’s a terrible teacher, and terrible teachers do more harm than good. She’s got zero patience and is probably screaming at him for not instantly understanding what she’s showing him. It’s entirely possible Aidean doesn’t even know his numbers yet, let alone how to subtract or add them.Aidean should have been in Early Intervention or Head Start years ago. Somehow I don't think that his borderline retarded mother attempting to get him caught up less than a week before he begins school is going to do the trick.
Teaching math to kids with learning disadvantages (let alone disabilities) is hard, even for those who have endless patience and know how not to traumatize a child. You can bet Kim is giving him an extra aversion to math and probably reading as well.
