RWBY - The Hindenburg on which Rooster Teeth rests its hopes, dreams and future

Come to think of it, if this is true, and Ozpin’s take on Salem is right, doesn’t the conflict sorta resolve itself now that she has a (potentially) immortality-proof suicide option?
I mean, I know they specified that her body is immortal, but I'm assuming her soul won't pass on no matter what.

I don’t see why it wouldn’t. Ozpin’s immortality is the immortal soul, Salem’s seems to be immortal (and unaging) body

Even without the relics they had that suspended animation machine back in V3 they were keeping the maiden alive with. Just throw Salem in one of those and throw away the key.

Getting her in there (and without the machine dead) is the hard part, and we don’t know how stuff like that affects her

I mean realistically we don't know much of anything about how Salem actually works on a mechanical level. Anything is as equally likely as anything else.

Personally I think they should rip off an actually goo IP for once and make her like Cell where every time you hurt her so long as even one single cell remains she can regenerate and become more and more perfect with each regeneration.

What’s to say she isn’t already genetically perfect or however you want to describe it? If anything, maybe it could work better than shitty Ozai.

You make a good point, she very well could be. I just wish they'd find better things to ripoff I guess. It's all ATLA and FoTM shonen so far.

That was also Cell’s weakness as it took actual energy to regenerate and made him more tired.
Also true, however he always came back stronger and his opponents could not. It took a concerted team effort to beat him since each fighter had to take it in shifts to wear him down until he could no longer regenerate.

Which would be a fantastic way to do a finale against Salem in a show with this many characters and a thematic focus on teamwork.

Goku pretty much nearly defeated him, quit, Gohan was a failure (until for a short time he wasn’t), and then Vegeta distracted Cell and Gohan killed him. Most of the team did jack shit. Technically, if Goku’s aim was better (or if Cell had the same limitations as Piccolo), Goku could have taken him single handedly. Hell, Cell was worn out after the healing, Goku certainly had a good chance.

Yeah, but that wouldn’t fit with her backstory of her immortality being immortal enough to repair all damage (if there was a limit, Salem would have found her in pre Ozpin reborn suicidal phase)

It's been a very long time since I last watched it so that's my bad but I stand by what I said. Good Salem finale would be to bring back some old teams and let everyone get their shot. Endgame did it so M&K probably will too.

Rooster teeth never ceases to amaze me.

They literally did a 2 part crossover with the Justice League, several of those superheroes are multimillion dollar franchises on their own I should add, and nobody cares. Even in this thread people would rather talk about Salem‘s poorly defined immortality than it.

I mean this should be a big deal event that revives interest on RWBY. Rooster Teeth can use them freely because of their parent company, while others companies, such as Fortnite, and Rocksteady before being bought, had to pay millions for the privilege to have them in their games. Not to mention Netherealm, creators of Mortal Kombat managed to make the wildly successful Injustice series with them.

It honestly takes true talent for people not to care about something with Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman etc on it.

I talked with some huge fans with the show, and even they can’t say anything better than “eh, it’s okay”. They do recommend it, but the fact that even the fans of the show would rather talk about this crossover only as long as it relates to characters visual beauty, and in other cases talk about the main show, speaks a lot, I think.

RWBY also gets actual promotion from Chruncyroll via their Vtuber collabs. Rooster Teeth has the Royal Flush, and somehow are not winning

True, but this thing does mention new Grimm designs that adapt. So, maybe they finally did something with the Dr. Merlot character from RWBY: Grimm Eclipse.

new Grimm designs that adapt
All Grimm can adapt given time. Merlot only used science to make the process faster and (on the low end) better (on the high end of natural adaption, the Grimm become nearly invulnerable, and cannot be seriously damaged by Huntsmen weapon)

Which makes me wonder if Dr. Merlot will be in this new Justice League film.

Hopefully not. Dr. Merlot works because he is not used super often. He does what the story wants him to do, and he does that very well. More Merlot means more chances for Merlot to be done poorly. There’s no reason to take a one-off spin off character and make him more than he is.
