Why are trannies hated by the rest of the LGBT community?

Question is, are those co-morbid illnesses symptoms of gender dysmorphia, or the cause?

I found a recent journal article that says experiencing puberty as the wrong gender triggers the uhh other things.
Source:
In Journal of Adolescent Health October 2015 57(4):374-380
Transgender youth are presenting at gender clinics for treatment related to gender dysphoria in higher numbers than previously seen [3] and [4]. Few providers feel educated and comfortable enough to treat transgender people [5], and even fewer feel comfortable treating transgender youth. Experiencing the wrong puberty for transgender youth leaves them vulnerable and often triggers symptoms of depression, anxiety, maladaptive coping, and suicidality [6]. Transgender youth are likely to experience societal discrimination resulting in economic marginalization, incarceration, social isolation, and physical abuse leaving them at higher risk for drug abuse, suicide, depression, violence, human immunodeficiency virus, other sexually transmitted infections, and homelessness [7] and [8]. A handful of studies have examined the prevalence of psychiatric morbidity experienced by transgender youth. In 2011, deVries et al. reported on 70 transgender youth eligible for medical intervention at the Amsterdam Gender Identity Clinic of The Vrije Universiteit (VU) University Medical Center. The study utilized the Child Behavioral Checklist and the Youth Self-Report to collect information at baseline before intervention. Of the participants, 44% of the sample scored in the clinically significant range on the Child Behavioral Checklist total problem scale (compared with 8%–9% Dutch adolescent norm), and 29.6% scored in the clinically significant range on the internalizing scale of the Youth Self-Report (also compared with 8%–9% Dutch adolescent norm) [9]. Studies have estimated the prevalence of suicide attempts among transgender youth to be between 25% and 32% [1] and [10]. A 2013 report of transgender youth presenting to the Gender Management Service at Boston Children's Hospital showed high prevalence of psychiatric morbidities including depression (58.1%), suicide attempts (9.3%), anxiety (16.3%), and self-mutilation (20.6%) [11]. In 2014, a report from British Columbia Children's Hospital Transgender Program described similar psychiatric morbidity among 84 transgender youth, including mood disorders (35%), anxiety disorder (25%), suicide attempt (12%), and psychiatric hospitalizations (12%) [3]. In 2009, the Endocrine Society published guidelines outlining the importance of treatment for transgender youth with recommendations for medical intervention. The Endocrine Society guidelines recommend using gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonists to suppress undesired puberty in early adolescence, with the addition of cross-sex hormones for masculinization or feminization as youth get older[12]. One recent study from the Netherlands points to the positive impact of a protocol incorporating puberty suppression, cross-sex hormones, and gender reassignment surgery on psychological functioning and well-being of 55 transgender individuals who began their interventions in adolescence [13]. Prospective studies about the physical and psychosocial impact of medical treatment are rare and have not fully explored the effects of the recommended treatment protocol outlined by the Endocrine Society.

Don't tell me trannies only affect their own lives and then force me to deal with their crazy bullshit. If you could choose to never have to associate with them or at least not play along with their fantasy then thats fine, but if I can get writren up at work for calling a dude in a dress a dude, then they're not just affecting their own lives.

People act like trannies only hurt themselves. But then they get mad when:
  • women don't want to see sissies in the bathroom
  • people don't want to sleep with them
  • you don't ask what everybody's pronouns are
  • you think that transitioning kids isn't a good idea
  • you don't think they are 100% a man or woman
  • you don't respect them for enforcing gender stereotypes
  • you don't think they are the most oppressed blameless minority on earth
  • you don't want to listen to their whining
idk I don't think the trans right movements has been completely positive. I think there's been an increase in the amount of gender dysphoria people feel even though society has been more accepting than ever.

I'm guessing you don't really know that many trans people. Truth is they're mostly boring people. In a lot of cases you wouldn't even know unless they told you. In my experience though when they DO get angry it's because somebody is knowingly disrespecting them, like most people. They put up with a lot of shit by and large, maybe they're touchy about certain things as a result, but who isn't? That being said I've never met a trans person who wanted to give kids SRS or expected people to sleep with them (if anybody expects that they're just assholes in general).

As for the bathroom thing, it seems like a non-issue (and it kind of is) but to them it's about more than the bathrooms themselves so much as the fact that they can't even take a shit without people judging them for it. Though that's even less of an issue than what's actually in a lot of these "bathroom laws" (specifically North Carolina's). Usually they use the bathroom thing as a cover for other discriminatory or just flat out unrelated bullshit. The one in North Carolina actually makes it illegal for individual cities to raise the minimum wage and erodes state level protections for LGBT people in general. Devil's always in the details.

Depends on the person I figure.

I think many of these issues are from the more extreme fringes of the movement. I don't know, I wouldn't have a problem with sharing a bathroom with a trans person, because ultimately, it's not like it's some sooper-sekrit inner sanctum. I think this is one of those issues where non-trans people need to get over themselves. The "whining" depends. If it's some stupid transtrender shit, then yeah, no one cares. If it's dealing with legit issues, then I believe they have a right to complain, even if they are a very small minority.

As for the other stuff, this is why the trans movement needs to have a clear-out like the gay rights movement in order to focus on equality (TBH this is mostly not even a thing in Europe and America) and real, important issues. I don't know how you'd do that, though - the moment you get a movement together and kick the transtrenders out, social media platforms would enable them to bounce back and demand representation.

Here's a good article from a gay man describing his issues with trannies

http://review.antiochcollege.org/sacred-androgen-transgender-debate-daniel-harris

I don't agree with everything he says but he makes some good points
@sourrascal thanks, that was a great article.

I know this does not refer to all TG people, but it is an accurate portrayal of Cows or Transtrenders like Cox, Jenner, and Chandler.
TGs claim to have released

their inner female, but in the case of AOL’s chat room they simply

gave their inner males wider latitude to dominate and oppress. Their

mimicry of women extended only to the most superficial aspects of

femininity, the reproductive and secondary sex characteristics, from

vaginas to curvaceous hips—in short, a man’s interpretation of what it

means to be a woman, a misreading made all the more belligerent by

the disruptive effects of hormonal fluctuations, which cause irritability

and moodiness in TGs similar to PMS or menopause.

I can sort of see why lots of detransitioned people decided to transition in the first place: Many of them most likely were raised in sexist or homophobic environments that were strongly based on maintaing traditional gender roles, and many of these people, especially women and gay/lesbian people feel so pressured to conform to such standards that they feel like they would be more accepted as trans rather than being gender non-conforming or gay/lesbian, since many of these environments are pretty highly misogynistic and homophobic. Take a look at places like fucking Iran, where lots of gay and lesbian people are forced to change their sex and sexist, traditional gender roles are strictly enforced, which really fucks over gays and lesbians as well as effeminate men and masculine women, aka people who do not follow sexist gender roles that are strictly enforced in societies that have a very strongly patriarchal, misogynistic, and very heteronormative culture to them (aka very, very socially conservative/fundamentalist environments). This might actually be why many feminists and many of those in the LGBT community are rather critical of the transgender movement, as they see trans people as reinforcing heteronormativity, sexism, and traditional gender roles

Now don't get me wrong, there are people who are genuinely dysphoric and transgender. However, there's most likely more people who claim to be trans that are not happy about the gender roles that they were raised in and see claiming to be transgender as a way to not follow the gender roles that their birth sex was assigned to, because they would probably experience quite a lot of sexism for being a gender non-conforming boy/girl rather than a transgender boy or girl who follows the traditional gender roles of the opposite sex.

As I'm sure has been said before, I think in the future, people are going to look back on sex-change surgery and hormone therapy as treatment for gender identity disorder the same way we look back on lobotomies as tratment for mental illness.

Setting aside trans-trenders who are just playing gender bending games for the virtue signalling and victim points, treating people with a genuine mental illness by surgically mutilating their genitals is somewhat akin to gluing someone's nostrils shut because they have a runny nose. The symptoms may be alleviated but you're not getting even close to the root cause of the problem and you're going to cause more harm than good.

If I firmly believed I was Napoleon, no mental health professional would suggest giving me command of the French navy as a means of easing my condition. And yet here we are performing dangerous and unnecessary medical procedures on people, instead of helping them get better, and worse than that, forcing the whole world to go along with it.

It is more like gauging out the eyes of someone who have severe acne so she doesn't have to see her scarred face. You destroy perfectly healthy organs, in the name of feels, while leaving the diseased one untreated.

I guess the part we're both missing in our analogies is where we make the whole rest of the world play along with the charade on pain of sanctiond at work or social stigma for being a "bigot"

I feel as though this, like most issues, can be traced back to the :autism: on Tumblr, where "cishets" are the ultimate evil in their eyes. This causes shit to happen like militant feminist bio-girls (most of Tumblr) saying shit like, "I'm genderfluid, but I'm fine with "she/her" pronouns," because they want to be a fucking special snowflake whilst facing none of the struggles of an actual transgendered person. All these transtrenders on the loose make a mockery of the LGBT community as a whole, which, I believe, is part of the reason LGB people hate on T people.

Heck, I even see this happen with bisexual people, too- because any dumbass can say they're bi on for that Tumblr-cred, without actually being attracted to people of the same gender, because they can still date people of the opposite gender, being "bisexual". Like the example before, there's no consequence for them, making the overall cause seem superfluous and generally stupid.

Of course, then there's the fact that the most well-known trans-people are only well-known because they're militant autist trans-people, and also the fact that people fear what they don't understand, which then leads to hate (incidentally this is why the LGBT community does include the T, as the root cause of the discrimination against the community is the same, even though sexuality and gender are different issues, so it's pretty much a fight against the same thing).

Although, I do wonder if you can consider yourself part of the "LGBT" community, if you're transphobic or biphobic.

Also the Cotton Ceiling. Transbians literally have coined a term comparing the discrimination competent women faced in the mid-20th centure workforce with 'lesbians don't fuck men in dresses'.

It's creepy as fuck.
In a funny twist it has really worked against them. Women dont read a post about the cotton ceiling by a transwoman and think something like, "Oh yeah! I should've let that creepy 'woman' I encountered at the gay bar last week take me home, it's only politically correct. uwu"

Instead they look up more about it and find out it's not just a thing a couple loons believe but rather a decent portion of transwomen online do. Then they stay the fuck away from them.

It's not that LGB hate T, it's that anyone who's survived substantial interaction with trannies hates trannies.
Generally speaking trannies are histrionic, obnoxious, anal retentive people who latch onto anything and demand special treatment or you're an evil bigot.

This was actually not my experience before dealing with the sorts from tumblr.

It has been since then, though.

Part of the issue is that (relatively) "normal" trannies don't go around telling everyone they're trannies, since the whole idea of transitioning is to pass as a women/man so people don't even know they're a tranny in the first place.

Or the massive hands give them away but people are polite enough to hold their tongue
