At this point, I'm convinced that if someone is making this kind of claim, they are lying through their fucking teeth for attention and sympathy points. And in this case its painfully obvious. These fuckers have created a bubble in the form of their discord to where anything that's SLIGHTLY negative gets shitcanned. It's at the point where they have to actively find negative shit online outside their bubble in order to make a claim like that, and even then, 90% of the "harassments" are about the game itself, and not the people who made it. If they are counting the mere mention of "Snoot" as "harassment" then they are beyond sensititve. They are the kind of people that have a ice pack duct-taped to their ass 24-7 from all the butthurt they go through over one fucking word.

If they're willing to accept positive criticism, in the form of awards etc., they then can't object to negative criticism. Plus a good proportion of their sales is going to be Snoot fans hate-playing it.

Three years of unending harassment implies people actually remember your game, outside of their super dedicated troon fanbase in their discord the only reason people remember GVH is because of Snoot Game.

To be fair, the space rock is just giving a swift end to a society that would probably collapse upon itself in a few years, a decade at most if thats the case. Queer society is one living on fantasy and a society living on fantasy is bound to fall upon itself.

There is an art in developing characters you know from the get go are doomed. Be it the end of the world genre or just a prequel following a character you know kicks the bucket in the original relatively early. To make you wish that somehow these characters will make it through, despite you knowing that they wont.
An art they suck at of course. This queer drama game could have been have any other setting and nothing would change.

As @The handsome tard says, it's entirely possible to have a compelling plot with a pre-ordained outcome... if you're a good writer. These people are not.
I do hope they fuck up, and there's a backlash because of their problematic portrayal of two-spirit identities, or other such bullshit. I think Rosa's supposed to be Hispanic (she was in Snoot Game, anyway) so there might be some milk there.

Even if GVH is well-written, i'm pretty sure the tumblrites this game panders to won't like seeing their beloved queer characters being exterminated by a space rock.
That's why i'm kinda surprised that the meteor was real and not just a shitty metaphor.

I don't really see anybody getting upset at the ending. Killing everybody off is just the cheapest way to get pathos and the "OMG, I totes cried at the end

I've already seen an article or two comparing it to Life is Strange, and that game (if I'm remembering right) also made everything you did pretty pointless by making you choose between letting Chloe die in the past or having the whole town get wiped out in the present. I don't even think the Snoot Game fans are gonna buy and play this to talk about how much they love Fang how bad it is, most will probably just wait for somebody else to record a playthrough. Only the discord genderblobs and a handful of game critics are going to spend time on it while we've got shit like BG3, AC6, Starfield, and whatever else going on.

I could be in "Handsome Theorist" mode here, but I think most people in the crew know this game is bound to be a disaster and given how this was funded by people focusing more on cultural subversion than to actually get any actual profits back (again, its tax payer money, its not like they care). So they might try to kind of burrow this game outside of its niche crowd and even then, this niche crowd will quickly move on to the next thing rather quickly, especially if there arent too many arguments they can use since its legit garbage.
Ironically this game will be reminded more by its haters than by its fans. Hell, Snoot Game will keep this game's memory alive, which i can imagine would be such a stab in the nuts to these people that it fills me with cathartic joy.

I think they're just massively incompetent. No pre-ordering, removing the first demo for some reason, taking forever to announce the price, not giving copies to journalists... The more pozzed outlets like Rock Paper Shotgun would have given it a good review no matter how crap it was.
