Look at that hook. If people genuinely believe the rise in transgenderism is due to society becoming more "accepting," how do they explain that it only happens to the young? Wouldn't populations who felt restricted by decades of transphobia be *more* or *as* eager to "achieve their embodiment goals" once it became acceptable? I sincerely want to know what their explanation for this curveline is. What ELSE could it be but social contagion, and preying on people with no life experience?

I don't understand this. This person shouldn't be
threatening to go to the ER, she should go to the ER. I think that is one of the most horrifying things I've picked up from this thread, that the gender surgeries are completely siloed off from the rest of the medical system, to such a degree that normal emergency surgeons won't even touch the patients. That means anyone who gets one thing done is stuck inside the gender silo forever, where they feel forced to accept whatever awful care they're given, or feel entitled to care the gender silo cannot provide, because they can't get a second opinion from people who actually know how the human body works. They might as well be going to a vet.
This "horrific sexual abuse" is most likely just exposure to porn and coomerism. We've had exactly these sentiments --

I'm a victim of coomerism myself (except I never wanted to get mutilated because I'm a trad Communist and have always wanted children, having children is the most efficient contribution to humanity one can attempt to make).
I'm not condemning her (as in "she's just too mentally ill and has overreacted to a normal thing"), I'm condemning coomerism ("this is what pornification does to many children who'd have otherwise grown up normal"): because coomerism does what people think can only be caused by horrific sexual abuse, it is as bad as horrific sexual abuse.
This, plus you have no idea how extreme and alarmist the rhetoric is over the likelihood of rape; a sheltered girl who is exposed to that strain can easily develop a fear of sex and intimacy because all it pings for them is "risk" and "danger." It's an exact mirror of the conservative purity discourse they so despise; one just puts the responsibility on YOU to refrain from irresponsible/premarital sex, the other makes it seem like you will NEVER have control over your body as long as men are out there preying. It feeds into a totally warped view of how prevalent this stuff is, and makes women feel like they can't handle themselves.
Blend that with fanfic coomers, and sex can only be enjoyed theoretically, ideally with no one else involved.
