Starfield - Bethesda's new space IP: will probably be full of fun and easily trackable bugs

How do you think Starfield will turn out?

Oh man, this is the first feature Todd announces that I actually want to be a lie.
How much are we betting that there is gonna be a "remove pronouns from the game" mod and that it is gonna be removed by the tranny jannies from nexus just like the spider man thing.

Though it would be much funnier if there was mod where npcs would keep calling you a man even if you chose she/her pronouns
You could see it in the character creator in the gameplay demos. It would be funny if it glitched out from adding a 3rd dialogue check for they/them and breaks and calls a tranny he, the ensuing twitter drama would be great.
Again GameBryo/Creation Engine/NetImmerse can handle Ladder Climbing, it's more of BGS being too lazy to fix the scripting to create such animations
Someone did it for Skyrim.

There's already plans to make an unofficial community patch ala Skyrim. (A)

Annnnd there's already signs of rivalry between them and AFKMods, owned by none other than Arthmoor of "Oblivion Gate" infamy. Arthmoor did pop up a couple hours later in the comments, but seemed to wisely stay out of that thread.

How big of a deal is AFKMods? I stick to mostly community patches and quality of life stuff which might explain why, but I've never heard of them before. But what I do know is that Arthmoor is a piss-baby faggot and should consider Roggvir'ing himself.

And then everyone will put hundreds to thousands of hours into it without an ounce of shame.
Why people keep saying this? Almost everyone i know stopped playing fallout 4 at the instituto questline and fucking nobody played 76

It appears the game won't let you manually land on a planet/moon.

What the fuck is that shit it looks horrible

So you need to go to the map and select which landing site cell you want to go to, but they didn't put any kind of invisible wall/"Proximity reached" message, so you can just fly your ship into the planet model's surface and scrape along if you spend enough time? That seems bizarre.

Why is everybody leaking this stuff being a fucking tard? If you didn't caption it I couldn't have figured out what was going on with him spazzing out switching between cockpit and third person every half second.
The majority of people who play video games are fucking retarded and/or spazzes

People always want to argue this with me and I don't understand why. How else do they think all of the microtransaction and remake bullshit gets through without any uproar?

Is this game expected to have any micro transactions on release or no?
On release? I don't THINK so

But a system like creation club is all but guaranteed from the pre load files. Are those considered DLC or micro transactions?

Unless they truly keep that to "mod authors only" I'd expect something within the first few weeks to a month. Probably some kind of Vasco armor to make a joke of horse armor.

I already played this game when it was called Oblivion.

That said, I really actually got into Skyrim after it came out, to my own surprise. I don't think it'll happen again though. I'm literally too old for this amount of yank.

(Over/under when people will find out spaceships are just clothes the player character puts on to run really fast around with?)

They already announced the first DLC. It's called "Shattered Space". IIRC it comes with the premium edition.

Release, probably not, but skins or ship preconfigs are easy and a month seems realistic. The delay on Bethesda releasing mod tools their games is getting longer and longer, with Fallout 4's being about six months. I wouldn't put it past them to give select modders early access under the condition that it's strictly for Creation Club shit and delaying it this time to a full year for genpop.

Pfft, I'm going to play for 300 hrs, then spend 1k hours writing, editing & publishing a video essay lamenting how Todd Howard was able to get away with it again, all the while proclaiming that Morrowind is still GOAT
I await Hbomberguys video essay "Starfield is facist and here's why" while covering up one of his old goon friend's rape history once again

Dead Money achieved making me have to actually sweat making ends meet and scrounge as hard as I could to have enough supplies to pull through, which cements its place in my heart. That's the big problem with the Bethesda RPGs: in Skyrim you can be toting around four suits of armor and fifteen swords no prob, in Fallout nothing's stopping you having ten rifles and a hundred stimpacks; you can be hauling a wheelbarrow's worth of shit around to drop off at the next vendor you find, so money quickly becomes a complete non-issue. Even when installing mods that make drops scarcer, the difficulty just isn't there. I imagine I'm going to need to self-impose some sort of halfway-realistic carry capacity rules on myself for this to be any sort of challenge, as I expect they're still going to be categorizing items by weight rather than by how unwieldy they are to carry.
a big reason the other DLCs don't fuck you like Dead money with your supplies is because of how many people whined about the difficulty, possibly the most difficult game that was put out by a AAA studio. You can tell the other DLCs were designed with this type of limitation in mind and its why they're piss easy if you play with your old gear.

As for the criticism that F:NV doesn't feel post-apocalyptic its because its not. by the time fallout 2 happened civilization has been built up to around 1890s levels. its why you used cash in fallout 2 and why they have presidents and bureaucracy. its also why you use speech and don't really kill many people until the end or can do a pacifist run rather easily. thats also why people whine about fallout 3's setting. by all accounts life should mostly be back to normal, if anything they should have set it before the originals, but they needed that harold cameo.

True, the people in the Fallout games have had literal centuries since the bombs but are still living in shacks with garbage on the floor, the setting doesn't make much sense. But a lot of people want that Mad Max setup for the game, so realism needs to be hand waved for it to happen.
