I think it's a symptom of American suburban city planning that made him drive there to interact with peopleThe older I get the more I sort of understand why Chris' world revolves around shopping malls. It's kind of a nice comfy place to hang out that isn't too overly stimulating to an autist like him and nothing major really changes day to day. After leaving high school and college there aren't really a lot of places indoors an autist like him can hang out to meet boyfriend free girls.
If he lived in a walkable city I could see him walking up to the park or the nearby college campus to woo women
