This video appeared in my recommended and I watched it out of curiosity. It made me feel like an old boomer complaining about kids. Are zoomers so destroyed by social media that they need a constant checklist and non stop assault of new things for them to get entertainment out of something? This guy can't comprehend that people play a version of Minecraft that is focused on creativity and exploration instead of a collectathon of random activities. He's absolutely the type of guy to ask why people climb mountains if there is nothing at the top. The worst part for me is all the comments agreeing with him. I'm probably not that much older than him but its like a culture shock to me.
Yeah, I saw this video a while back and clicked off after about a minute. This video and those like it are just autistic. The editing, the memes, the commentator. All of it makes my eyes roll.
I agree with your appraisal though. He's one of those "but I did have breakfast this morning" sort of people.
@Spruce Supremacist - I am unfortunately unable to reply to your post (#1484 in this thread) directly but I wanted to address this to you.
I don't know precisely when I first got minecraft, I think around the survival update release (I deduced this from records I have from the time. I can't seem to find my account's incept date). Before that I extensively played the free classic version of Minecraft so as to convince my parents to get it for me.
Classic was magical. One time I built an underground tunnel complex and accidentally flooded it, and to this day I still vividly remember walking through those tunnels underwater, the eerie shadows and strong blue hue of the chasm.
There is something about the primitive simplicity of the visuals of those early versions, rendering deeply impressing sights. Most would say it's nostalgia but I think there's something to be said about well crafted low fidelity graphics, how it makes your mind fill in the picture like good literature.
It is certainly correct to say that Notch pulled out
right when he should've. He initially wrote the game. He of all people would've seen the shitshow it could and then would become. He cashed out and I don't blame him. It's just a shame he hasn't done much of anything else.

PIRATE MINECRAFT, PIRATE MINECRAFT, PIRATE MINECRAFT!!!
I WILL NO LONGER ACCEPT MICROSOFT'S COCK. I WILL NOT ACCEPT THE TERMS OF AGREEMENT AND I WILL NOT LIKE THE NEW MINECRAFT GOYSLOP. FUCK THE TROONS, FUCK THE ANTICHRIST, AND FUCK WINDOWS 11.
This. I'd say the same thing to the Destiny and Paradox communities, to name a few. That is:
if you don't want to be fucked like a bitch, don't let them treat you like a bitch.
Pirate the game. Set up independent servers. Make a minecraft without them and their bullshit. None of this stops until people show that they can live without them. Especially with Paradox. Put these Swedish "people" in their place.
As an aside, a funny server idea would be to make everybody initially dark skinned and then as they level up they get lighter and lighter. I don't know if servers can modify user skins though. Would expect so.
