Can someone explain me why Chris spent two years in prison, only for the case to be dismissed? Isn't there grounds for a lawsuit since he was detained without conviction?

Where the hell would they have put him? As shitty as it is to admit, PC is jail was probably the 'safest' place for him. Good luck telling him he wasn't allowed back at 14 Branchland if he was released to his own recognizance.

i remember him having a driveway for some reason.
here is an aerial photo of the house dated 2015 posted on the cwcki (link)notice that his house only has grass. his seems to be the only one without a driveway , not sure if this was they were too cheap to buy one or too trashy for one.

My guess is it was gravel/dirt to begin with and just grew in over time due to neglect. 14BC was out in the middle of BF Egypt back in the early 1980s so it never had a paved driveway.

if you check the gallery this photo form 2013 appears to show a worn out gravel driveway. so you are correct, it appears they have a gravel one and jsut let it get grown over and never replaced any of the gravel. not t all surprising given the people who live there.

People forget, our court system is 100% broken. What Chris did is typical. Wave his right to a speedy trail so that it drags out for years, then the backed up court system eventually just gives up on it since it has bigger fish to fry. Then since nothing came of the case, he's free to do whatever he wants.
