In an essay by my favorite fantasy author, KJ Parker(aka Tom Holt) called Cutting Edge Technology, he referred to the katana as a "...clunker, an Edsel." This was after describing the process of making them and pointing out that they were really thick because that was the only way they wouldn't snap in two when you hit something.
Only slightly related was him pointing out that all the sword experts on youtube claiming a sword can't cut through plate mail armor fail to acknowledge a couple of factors such as a charging knight having the force of his horse behind his swing, the fact that all the armor the youtubers test with is made of modern steel better than anything available in medieval Europe, and that the testers are "21st century weaklings".

The post was on an article about despite it being a blue voting state Wisconsin legislature was being ran by Republicans or something along those lines. The rando made some innocuous boomer post and Rick started squealing. No clue why he mentioned Somalia, he must have had pepperoni on the mind because it had nothing to do with the article or anything that had been commented.

this pic makes me sad that the people who reupload MATI vids get banned all the time because there was an awesome clip of Null laughing at Patrick for 2 minutes after reading about the Torque Wheeler reveal from a few years(?) ago that i never got around to saving. every time i see a really ugly fat person i just think of how happy Josh was laughing at the name onaforum members came up with, Pork Squealer, because he's faaaaaattt. he was breaking down just saying it.
and once again, the streetshitter's harassing ordinary, innocent people and accusing them of being in a "cult" who targets a "stranger on the internet".

This has been my suspicion for a while, but especially after 8/24. The only reason I can’t quite buy Pat orchestrating his own SWATs is because he’s simply too fucking dumb to work out the logistics. But I’m sure he wouldn’t hesitate to commit perjury or otherwise fuck around outside the bounds of the law, believing he’s so smart he can get away with it.
That moment in BDA’s court hearing over Pat’s restraining order request, when Pat got busted for lying to the judge, was a big stroke of luck for Pat. Any sane person who would have come that close to catching a charge (for falsifying evidence, perjury, whatever) would have taken it as a wake-up call. Give up before you make another sloppy error and fuck your whole life up.
Pat almost certainly failed to heed that call. And I have a feeling he’ll soon come to regret that.
