Paper Mario TTYD....the one that people stand by the most is getting a remake. Thank the lords above for this, but I shall ask one question: how are they going to deal with Vivian's identity crisis? He's an "otokonoko" (male daughter in Nip language) in a few versions of the game, but plain just a girl in America/Germany, and a tranny in Italy (though the pre-2014 type so no "transgender" bullshit and more "transsexual")
Will they stick by the original Japanese script or will they just give up and go with a doubled-down transgender representation?.....honestly, considering Nintendo, a bit harder to tell. At the very least he'll still look better than most humans even if he's a shadowy wisp....

It probably won't get that much discussion this time either because it's much more important that we have 100 more years of FUCKING VIVIAN DISCOURSE.

I'd have rather seen your one on one than what we got.

Soulless twee farming games and indie PC ports galore. Will probably end up with one or two of the games eventually but there's no rush or hype from me for any of them. Dave the Diver is literally the best they got.

How are they even planning on bringing over Trace Memory to the Switch. The puzzles in that game are made with the DS in mind there's a whole puzzle that needs you to close the DS screen to solve. Do they expect us to snap the switch in half to solve it or something?

They seem to be full remakes so they can rework things.

Probably true... Pretty disappointing though. The games did okay in Japan, and IIRC the rereleases for them in English sold pretty well.

I foresee some pretty heavy localization, though. TTYD has some fairly saucy stuff in it for a mario RPG, and I just don't see things like the peach shower scene or the playboy bunny boos making the final cut. Every Mario RPG past Paper Mario 64 seems to already have very heavy localizations from what I've played, ESPECIALLY Super, but it's not really something that gets a lot of discussion. It probably won't get that much discussion this time either because it's much more important that we have 100 more years of FUCKING VIVIAN DISCOURSE.

You should be aware that playing japanese games not in their original language is like playing a fanfiction at this point.

Anniversary is only the first game, and it is a comoletely different game, its great, but its not the same.

The Italian version goes a step further. She's actually trans....and better than most other adaptations these days of trans people wow.

EDIT: And to @whatever I feel like I did look through the history and it was not at all mention at first....but the recent version sucks so I rewritten it in the perspective of a normal person. Probably gonna be banned because me not mentioning "transgender" might be transphobia or whatever. TCRF is run by trannies anyways.

You mean the fan remake that was in development for years, but Nintendo waited until after it was already released to the public to "shut it down" (translation: gave the dev a slap on the wrist because Nintendo was also working on their own Metroid 2 remake, then stopped caring as soon as the official remake was out to the point where the fan remake has since gotten multiple updates and ports after the supposed "takedown")?

That Spy x Family game is also coming out in America. It was in the American direct.

I find it interesting how 2024 has like 3 games lined up for it maximum and none of them are anything special. You'd think there'd be more, but I'm guessing that by Summer 2024 there'll be new hardware to pick up where the Switch left off. I hope so, anyways.

The Switch 2 is clearly around the corner. This is honestly about what to expect for a console nearing the end of its life.

As for the direct, this is honestly what I expected, and anybody who expected more was setting their expectations way too high. It was fine direct for what it was, though that F-Zero game was just painful and Nintendo ought to be ashamed of it.

I'm surprised as the Paper Mario TTYD remake, and I hope its everything you want and more, Paper Mario fans.

I'm surprised that the remake of Luigi's Mansion 2 is coming in the summer, though. Makes me wonder when the Switch 2 is getting released.

Trace Memory getting a full on remake (with the second game finally getting an official American release) is a pleasant surprise. If there is one good thing the Switch era has inculcated into Nintendo, its Nintendo bringing back its lesser franchise with remakes or new sequels. First, it was Clubhouse Games, then it Famicom Detective Club, now it Trace Memory. I for one am here for it.

That's a good point, and I think this release date in particular says a lot. Every Luigi's Mansion so far has released around Halloween, and we know from the Prime remaster that Nintendo isn't opposed to holding onto games for a while after development has finished, and Nintendo has plenty of other Mario-related projects in development, so why not wait until next October for Luigi's Mansion? Because the Switch 2 will also release around that time and they want to get their Switch games out of the way so people will focus on the next system.

Long as they don't notice it or the fact that it's from a KF user it SHOULD be fine. Or you get into a Wikipedia esque slapfight with the autistics there. Lot of the jannying is being upheld by like two or three people at this point. The rest rely on snitches or are too busy dilating or something.


Anyways, Switch 2 I bet is coming real soon, if it's anything like the first we'll probably start hearing about it in the winter for a spring release, more likely winter 2024, but I don't see them stalling for longer than that. Really does feel like they're starting to wrap up development of originals and filling the rest with, well, filler.
