I defend Todd on this. The amount of people who have a gaming PC without a SSD is baffling to me. A m.2 I could understand, but a sdd of any kind? It shocks me how people spent $1000 on a 3090 but wouldn't spend $30 for a 256gb ssd. The spinning hard drive is going to be such a huge bottleneck for a system like that. But it's a complaint I see over and over again.

If you have any PC building knowledge, and I've described your system, don't buy Starfield. Spend the money on getting a single SSD. Your other games will work much better.

This is where I get the point of view of those that are saying that a lot of people are just hating to hate.

I have a mid range PC at best, but I invested in an SSD and I'm not getting any ridiculous load times and the only time I hit anything close to 30fps is in New Atlantis and Neon.

I thought SSD's were the new norm back in like 2015 when I built my second computer tbqh. To find out there are people running 4K rigs or whatever without one today is insane to me and it's starting to make me think that we have more retards jumping into the PC space than I thought. (and I say this as someone who considers himself a retard in the PC space)

How long of load times are you seeing?

I think I'm seeing like 5 second load times tops, maybe there have been a handful of moments where it's gone to ten seconds.

I'm just being overdramatic and exaggerating to be honest, so around the same, but sometimes even longer in space. It's just that I spend so much time playing OpenMW with its instant/near instant loads (even on a hard drive) that this sort of this is just really annoying to me. Outside of loading performance the game just runs awful though.

Ssds cost a lot more and you need to put your OS on it too. I got one but damn it costed an arm and a leg.

Bg3 bas 10 second loading times. But you encounter them much less. Once an hour at best, but you can go on for 3 hours without encountering one.
