McDonalds - I'm Lovin' It

I remember one store I went to where this short, angry Mexican woman was screaming at the wagie trying to serve me food at 5 am. It was not a comfortable experience by anyone because that sort of bullshit management just causes people to quit, meaning you have to retrain everyone.
Actually screaming means you're not in control.

Not that it matters, because I'm just some rando and not a "big brained" corporate head. I just see this as idiotic. Employees are slammed enough with drive thru orders and getting orders from multiple services processed to not have to worry about customers demanding more Hi C refills with their meals when they could've gotten it themselves. If a customer is ordering kiosk or counter, it's a lot easier, faster, and efficient to just give a customer an empty cup and let them have at it.

Not to mention that my mother for instance refuses to go to the closest McDonalds by her house solely because there has been no self service area there since a Covid era remodeling. It was a bitch for her to get a refill to go even if the restaurant wasn't slammed. The very thing that McDonalds wants to do for all stores turned her off from a McDonalds restaurant entirely.

This is just the latest in corporate retardation.

The problem is it's impossible to get a "consistent experience". The idea from the beginning was that they were going to be reliable restaurants with a standard product that was not going to be altered or use wildly different ingredients across the country, and that really was never attempted in franchising at the time.

The chain was at its best when it realized that owner-operators were its heart and soul, ran things according to their guidelines, and tweaked the rest (restaurant décor, etc.). The reality is that restaurants are dirty and poorly-run and some are actually decent. Trying to lower standards through the entire chain just means a shittier product at the end of the day.

I went to a McDonald's restaurant for the first time in years, to see if I could get the chicken wrap they had a decade ago, to learn they no longer offer it, and so I left. Do they have any decent products left?

I still think they have some of the better breakfast options around as far as fast food breakfast goes. Can’t beat that classic sausage and egg McMuffin, hash brown and coffee some days. The rest of their stuff is pretty crappy though, never really did care for their burgers.

This is funny because Mcdonalds is VIOLENTLY OPPOSED to returning the snackwraps. It's their most requested and most denied "return" item.
Burger King is producing and imitation now, if you really need a shitty chicken fillet in a burrito covering.

I'm deeply craving a decent L-T-O, all the chains are fucking slacking. When they do LTO's it's a shitty chicken sandwich. I want Burgors!

I forgot, Jack in the Box finally caved. Their most requested "return" item were the potato wedges. It was funny because every social media post they made was buried in BRING BACK POTATO WEDGES insanity.

Well, they did. Jbox still sucks on price point though. Too much money for not enough food. But that's really all of them now. Gone is the $5 lunch.

My knowledge is ancient now, but the deep fryers used for the McChicken were different than the ones used for hashbrowns (used french fry fryers instead).

The stainless steel grills used to make burgers would be the ones used to cook egg rounds, sausage patties and Canadian bacon. So in a smaller outfit, the breakfast and dinner menus had strict schedules (before the all-day breakfast era).

There's really no reason a wagie couldn't throw a frozen breaded chicken patty in the fryer for you other than 1) they want to turn over the menu whole cloth or 2) they use the breakfast window for the night crew to clean those fryers.
The fryers used to cook the chicken products, fish products, and the potato products are all different. The vats get cleaned every night, and usually doesn't take that long to clean them because most of the cleaning is automatic. So it doesn't make a lot of sense to me on why that specific store wouldn't serve a McChicken at that time. It isn't like it doesn't take more than a few minutes to drop a fresh one and assemble it anyways. Change over never happens that early at least in my experience. So they either had really shit kitchen people working that night, or the manager just doesn't give enough of a shit at that hour.

It's not a technical issue. It's a power play. Manager said, "fuck you", so customer service has to sell "Sorry, we can't do that right now".

You can more or less still get this in any small local Mexican or Chinese restaurant where the "small" is $10 or so and easily makes two meals unless you're a total mukbang fatty.
I had a quarter pounder from McD's a couple weeks ago and it was delicious.
McDonald's burgers are reasonably good when absolutely fresh and hot and eaten immediately. If they even get down to warm, they're utter shit. Same with their fries, delicious when fresh and hot, terrible if they've been under some heat lamp for even a few minutes.

Tbh I haven't had McDonald's for over a year now because new management took over the local one and the quality immediately nose-dived off a cliff. They previously always had two lines of drive through backed up sometimes into the street, but moved so fast you'd be in and out in ten minutes or so, fries and everything else were always hot, sometimes shakes weren't avilable (but that is the case everywhere).

First time I went there after new management? Barely warm, soggy fries, fucked up order, etc. Never again.

The quality really is different from location to location. Very lucky to have a halfway decent one 10 minutes from my house

Niggers. Niggers is the answer.

I've noticed something: fast food places run by teenagers are way cleaner and better-run than the ones run by and frequented by niggers. And McDonald's is usually a nigger place around here.
I got a buddy who's a franchisee. I think it's in California? Not important. The shit I hear from him is awesome.

I have to pay?
Some Mexican kid comes in, about 6. Fills a water bottle with soda and comes in to mooch off the wifi. Buddy goes out to confront him and the kid as he walks up just starts "Oh I have to pay? I didn't know!"
Buddy just says don't do it again.

A few hours later, Mexican kids family comes in and grabs milk jugs full of soda and this can't fly, so he confronts them.

"Oh we have to pay? Isn't America the land of the free? Free soda yes?"

Kicked them the fuck out.

But literally why? It's literal sugar water. How many people have been fucking up the soda machine for you to gate keep it?
I get the vibe some of it is due to either preventing people from just abusing the wi-fi by getting a drink. Might also be a nickel and diming method if they're dumb enough to charge for refills too. Might also be due to them being understaffed probably; that doesn't help with keeping that area clean.

Someone had a conspiracy where small pieces of human skin was scattered on the ingredients of McDonalds food items. Could you only imagine the reaction if that turns out to be true.

I guess it could be technically true in that people (workers) shed tiny particles of skin on things they are around.

Same with spit when anyone talks.

I wouldn't be surprised if some people at McDonalds masturbated in the bathrooms during their break, not washed their hands and cooked burgers with their spunk hands.

Ketchup in Canadian McDonalds is also better than the American Ones, in fact, Canadian McDonalds is even more healthier than their American Counterpart.

McDonalds was also another franchise I often visit in Japan drinking Watermelon and Grape Fanta while having Shrimp and Teriyaki Chicken burgers and I checked out Moss Burger, another restaurant in Japan you should try.

If they aren't, it won't. One of the best McDonald's I went to was a hood McDonald's run by some kind of fanatical Black Muslim.
Now why would a Muslim work at McDonald's?

There goes another freedom. People can't keep those areas clean enough without causing some shit.
I always thought it had something to do with customers double dipping on refills.
