George RR Martin, his fanboys, and former fanbase

Interesting that nobody has mentioned the now defunct iswintercoming.com which was a forum for filled with trolls and butthurt antifans who got banned from places like Westeros.org by the jannies. I remember them outright praising Jew & Jew running the series into the ground because "lmao fuck you George".

I have mentioned it a few times:

1. 6 weeks ago - Made this list of GRRM related drama, hoping this thread would explore that, but this thread instead is just criticism from people who only partially get books and show.
There was a website for people who were disillusioned over GRRM and banned from other fan sites - IsWinterComing.com. But activity died and closed down with very little archived.

IWC was pretty useless for years before it shut down. Very quiet and the threads were mostly the regulars making small talk.

2. It plays a big role in The Dragon Demands vs. Werthead chapter of my pet lolcow thread.

IsWinterComing.com (R.I.P) was a refuge for the trolls banned from Westeros and elsewhere. Westeros.org got them bbooted off multiple hosts until they set up their own website. Had some funny shit but most threads descended into a knitting circle. This year it was dead and they stopped renewing the domain. However, in that time period, IsWinterComing.com was the main rebel base for trolls.

Basically my LOLCow went to IsWinterComing.com to brag about how he was going to take down Werthead and kick him off the wiki. They didn't like either of these internet hall monitors. They previously had a parody account, so they made The Dragon Demands prove it was really him by editing their names into the wiki. This mean his plot was verifiably documented on the web.
 
I read the tweet with the news, but couldn't save it. Turns out that fans are boycotting next GRRM's book (LOL) because (allegedly) Linda said that Velaryions shouldn't be black, and that there are no black Valyrians, so casting black people as such was a mistake.

She is correct.

Yeah it was obvious that jealous bitter fags and other degenerate types would go after Linda for criticizing the race swapping in GOT/HOTD. They basically seethe and lose their minds that someone like her is trusted by GRRM to basically write main stories and books and edit his series. She likely will get access to his sixth book, should he write it, before almost anyone on earth. Looks like one of them paid for a DailyMail article even. All of the comments are of course pro racism which is hilarious.

These aren't fans. They are fan-larpers (fanpers?). They want to be part of any fandom,do the cosplay and repeat the lore, but they never really understood what the stories were about. Marvel, HP, LotR, you name it.

The fuck she is trusted with any of that. Her and her hubby have no part in the writing of novels. No early access either. They just help on supplementary shit like an encyclopedia and this new art book coming out Oct 25th.

The number of people in this thread that are confidently talking out of their asses in this thread is wild. It's worth remembering that reading any thread on the farms - it is, in part, a troll forum.

Why would he? The man is set for life and his series is too toxic to bother fixing, especially if he really did give Dumb and Dumber the basic rundown of the ending. Doesn't help that he has a legion of sycophants ready to dogpile anyone who expects him to do his job and write a highly-anticipated continuation for his main series when he can fuck around and write other shit that's pretentious but gets love for being “profound and clever in expositing lore.”

Yea, there's so much shit left to wrap up that I don't see how The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring are going to coherently tie up every loose end even if they're both ridiculously long. I'd rather he just release the bullet points of his planned ending at this point, at least then you'd get something.

If he does not do something like this D&D are going to be only people to know from first hand how series should have ended. Two people that his fanbase hates most. Lol .
Anyway doing something like this would cause drama. So from his position best thing to do is just keep doing what he does now. And when he drops dead it is not going to be his problem .
