Starfield - Bethesda's new space IP: will probably be full of fun and easily trackable bugs

How do you think Starfield will turn out?

You can break the game with outposts, I only did this at the end after hitting level 50. You can set up a magnet factory and just churn out thousands of XP a minute.
I just started messing around with outposts, how exactly do you do this? I have perks I want to get but XP is becoming a mega slog.

Those tattoos and nose ring are pretty gay, not gonna lie.
Yeah all of the tattoos suck. I wanted a cool neck tattoo but all they got is cute kitten staring at stars and whatever the others are. I don’t know what’s so wrong with the models, but they look so awkwardly effeminate even if you make them look masculine like what I came up (minus the tattoo which I got rid of).

This is their third stinker in a row and FO4 still has the excuse of having sold well. I don't think Starfield sold anywhere near what they hoped/expected. It should have been the biggest game of the year. People are moving on.
Fallout 76 still prints money by the bucket because gamers are dumb niggers who can't help themselves. This easily sold several million copies from the extra expensive early access alone and MS probably got a ton of Gamepads subscribers for this heap.

Biggest game ever? No, but easily profitable.

It is interesting to see how the reaction to the game is slowly pivoting into the negative, with even the biggest dickriders trying to spin it as "A Bethesda game lol!" As if the flaws pervading through these fucking later Bethesda abortions are quirky or at all tolerable at this point.

Also funny that the 2.0 update for Cyberpunk is out and the DLC is dropping Monday. Wonder how much that is going to steal Starfield's thunder.

Someone make a nice neck tattoo on Nexus
somehow it looks like its ripped from CP2077

Got absolutely chewed out by African UC captain man after "Absolute Power" (the quest where you steal conduction grid data from Generdyne in Neon City). He screamed at me about opening fire and murdering several civilians, even though I completed the quest without detection and zero casualties...except for literally just one of those small cube shaped cleaning robots because it was messing with my detection meter. It seems that was enough to activate the went-in-guns-blazing reaction and so he came at me like I slaughtered the whole building. From there my options were to get arrested properly this time or attack. Natutally I chose attack, shot him in the face and narrowly escaped with my ship at critical damage and the UC now hating me.

Of course I still couldn't kill him during this whole ordeal. They really dropped the ball with dialogue and NPC interactions in this one.

Are the 70.000 vertices sandwiches real or a 4chan troll?
According to another Anon in the starfield general that ripped this sandwich model, it's far less.

This actually looks like a model made by someone competent. The other one was probably just a troll to jump on the train of there actually being awful models in the game, but I can't confirm this yet. I'll see about ripping some models sometime later, I haven't deleted my pirated copy yet just in case, hopefully the nif tools are the same.

For those wondering, bread looks like curve still, but with proper bevel and a loop cut along the middle to add some depth to the crust. Cheese is hard to tell but looks like cube with beveling still, lettuce is another curve. The topology isn't clean whatsoever, but its not a skinned model so it doesn't matter.

I dunno, I ended up dicking around for a bit for my Bounty Hunter character and ended up making a guy that looks like an older version of Doom Guy. This was before I even knew Bounty Hunter armor was a rip off of nu doom armor. I've seen a mod already that adds some UC Marine tattoos so maybe that will help in the future.

It's becoming more and more apparent that the game had a heavy survival element in the original vision that they just completely gutted. I've seen people discuss this on reddit, but it just makes so much sense when you realize just how pointless so many elements of the game feel. I'd say at least half the skills don't feel needed unless there was originally a survival element. Outposts would suddenly matter if you actually needed fuel and upgrades to travel. All of the OVERLY detailed food items when they offer very little health or buff benefits. The multiple versions of curative items when ailments are such a non issue.

It all makes sense why this shit is there if you place it in the context of an integral survival mode. It's like the exact fucking opposite of Skyrim where they put in a survival mode when the game was clearly not designed for it, we now have a game that seems like it was created with survival in mind...and it's nowhere to be seen.

Edit: I'd also argue the "story" wouldn't feel so short if the majority of the artifacts didn't spawn around the settled systems and actually spawned in deep space, too. But then I guess that would have made New Game+ too tedious?

I’ve given up on this now that 2.0 dropped for Cyberpunk 2077 and really enjoying a new play through.

Starfield was feeling like a chore and I hate the retarded travel system which takes me right out of the game.

Starfield plays like it was made by a bunch of people who had never played a Bethesda open world game and instead relied on someone describing those games to them.

I refuse to believe this had much play testing other than checking for bugs rather than if the actual thing was fun.

Will be back after I complete Phantom Liberty if I’ve not forgotten it has existed by then.

TL;DR didn’t engage my autism, 4/10

I feel like it may have been more interesting if they leaned a lot more black flag style into their ship combat, if they added more layers of tactics and strategy to the fucking thing (ie. Being able to blockade run/smuggle in a small nimble ship to run contraband not warping right into scanners, running an actual flotilla with dofferent ship classes)

Also its weird that uc seems to be the only faction with an actual capital ship left despite a,b and c classes everything looks around fucking fighter sized for some reason

The limit seems to be 40m for width and length, idk about height.

Like I said earlier ship systems need to have the ability to chart a course via grav warping instead of cutscenes, and actual FTL travel speed like in everspace 2, then cruiser-class ships with a hanger for your companions to use Class A ships and launch themselves into battle/go into landing zones to harvest a planet for supplies. Essentially giving your crew "collect X items then return to ship" quests, give "here's -item costs x5- get item quests" etc. etc. Which then feeds into "rescue crewmember radiant quests."

And actually allow us to decorate our ship interior, locking said decorations in place, AND HAVE MORE THAN 4 WORKBENCHES AS FUNCTIONAL FURNITURE. For fuckssake give us the arcades from FO76/4 or some shit it's the same fucking engine. Or a fucking greenhouse in-ship.
I haven't bought it yet, but this guy claims it is super repetitive
It is. Everyone bitched about Preston Garvey in 4 and his settlement bullshit. But apparently it's ok now that everyone is marking a settlement on your map. Because one of the faction quests was actually a faction quest.
