It’s obvious that this is just coping because they couldn’t get him on the show. When they were talking about having him on during their post show stream, it was obvious that they really wanted him. Honestly I think Sam probably wanted him more than jet did. People forget that the gothic king cobra was produced by him and MDE. He’s shown his videos before on his podcast (there’s also an old video of Sam shouting him out but I can’t find it) so I think he’s probably been following him for awhile. Ironically Josh is probably more of a part of MDE than he is. Also saying “imagine if season one was just established internet figures with kiwifarms threads” is ridiculous when that’s exactly what airsoftfatty was. He arguably saved the show towards the end of it. Part of wants to think that they’re doing this as 4d chess to get him more interested but I doubt they’re smart enough for that.

I doubt Cobes would be able to handle Fishtank if they don’t let him drink. Bad enough that Asian guy who was friends with Jet and Sam was going through withdrawals while making it obvious he was the plant. But Cobes wouldn’t be a good fit, everyone mostly just watched because it was their autistic girlfriend simulator. Cobes eccentric alcoholic behavior will just be a low energy Jon. Jet probably is going to have an uphill struggle in season 2 solely because the quirky autistic stimming girls aren’t exactly growing on trees and that’s what people will expect.

If they wanted some real entertainment they’d do Patrick S Tomlinson but the twitter withdrawals would kill him.

you know I think josh is the only real salvageable cow. He's pretty far gone, but I think with a group of normal friends where he's the token retard he'd do just fine. Its too late now maybe, but I think he'd legitimately have a chance if he had 4-7 people who generally gave a shit about him and took him out of the house every now and then. people he could drink with in a normal way, just do shit with, etc. I've been following him for years and he was always a regard but the last few years with like nobody but the trolls and YouTube videos to comment on have really fucked him. He's also autistic enough that I think 6 months around semi normal people would change him entirely. I don't know that I'd want that bc god damn does he entertain me sometimes but fuck dude I think he'd be more entertaining if he was better off (just not well off). during the Wendys days I always thought he'd probably be just fine, one of those permanent town retards everyone's graduating class had. but these days he's still humorous to me but god damn is he pathetic

He's too far gone. I can't see him kicking his alcohol addiction, he'll never admit he has a problem. That and the duster literally causes brain damage every time he uses it.

Josh's inability to choose his friends wisely has always been one of his great weaknesses, though it's also one of the things that made him so entertaining back when he did things other than drink. Though I don't think his friends are responsible for his alcoholism, that's his own doing.

I don't see him getting a better friend group. A good friend would give him advice, but Cobes always interprets advice as being talked down to and rejects it on principle. All lolcows reject advice, but Josh does it for different reasons than most, it's a desire to stay independent and prove he's not a retard rather than the more usual narcissism, which is why he's different to and more likeable than most other cows. But ultimately, smart people take advice, and Josh is not smart. He'd reject any friend who would try to guide him away from self-destruction.

I don't think you're wrong I just will say bottom of the heart I wish it wasn't true because regardless cobes had chances and blew them. most retards I've followed online were always unsalvageable but he really did have a shot and fucked himself instead. I will say the friend group thing you're right about but I didn't mean that in as one shows up although I phrased it as such but more that he would have been cool w one and never had the chance. although I still withhold I do think he's autistic enough to adapt to if a new set of people really took him in, but why would they lol

I know plenty of people who are as dumb as Josh but who are really successful. The difference between those people and Josh is that they are picky about who they make friends with and they take advice from that trusted friend group.

If thinking isn't your strength, then bring something else to the group so that your friends will help you out and tell you if you're making a bad decision. Maybe develop a practical skill like car repair or gardening, or be good, reliable muscle for any big physical jobs that need doing, or just be good, fun company.

All Josh brings to his friends though is that he doesn't judge them for being shitty people, but all that means is that they mooch off him and suddenly disappear when he needs their help.

I agree, I think I said something similar a couple of pages ago. The short stint with Mr. Green saw Cobes acting relatively normal when in the presence of a normal, attractive young man with no substance abuse.

In an ideal world, Cobes would still be working and he'd be put in an apartment far away from the dregs of society, he'd be biking every day to work and he would be satisfied and happy, able to drink a beer or two on the weekends rather than drinking as self-medicating behaviour.

What Cobra needs is structure, stability and normal, average people whose lives are in order around him. The exact opposite of what he's stuck in right now. I don't know enough about Casper or Wyoming in general as I am not from the States, so I cannot say whether or not these criteria are possible to fulfill.
Also, Clint would need to help set up Cobra in these surroundings. We already know how strained Cobra's relationship with him is. And sadly, Josh also suffers from a disorder that makes him prone to doing the exact opposite of what he's being told.

TLDR - it ain't ever gonna happen.
