I love how they've been trying to stir up a smokescreen with Johnny Kitagawa's sexual abuse scandal. While it is terrible, it honestly holds no water on Jeffery Epstein having a sex dungeon island and manipulating the lot of Hollywood to be a flesh trade. Nowadays, the only people who have been sticking around on ANN are their most hardcore suckups. Their community is dwindling. Is it perhaps because all of the horrible things that they've been accused of are true? Is it because many of their core users are just as rotten as their reviewers? Nah, probably because of goobrgut and that farm that grows kiwis.

I'm not one to predict anything, but I believe honestly they are eating themselves. They already had a huge community fight over Shield Hero and the issue of slavery in isekai stories. I'm very sure that did a number on their own and showed many of them their true colors to each other.

All in all, couldn't have happened to a better place. Death to Goons and their associates. In Minecraft.

Johnny was one of the biggest names in J-pop and male idols, and uniquely for Japan, one of the few people there absolutely known to have done a casting couch for raping kids. It obviously goes on elsewhere there and there's been rumors, but nobody in Japan ever puts names to their faces since these guys are so powerful and it's really not a cultural thing. The only other notable dude who went to jail over it was one of the later Gainax presidents but this was late 10s Gainax which is more or less irrelevant in terms of new projects.
