I don't disagree with you on any of this - but part of the issue here is at what point you have a right to legal advise. In Canada, I am pretty sure this would only come into play upon being arrested.

I don't know what laws canada has about compelling evidence and right to silence, but he would automatically be considered a suspect (if not prime) in her disappearance as he's her husband. if they compel testimony it would only be because he is not a suspect, if he is a suspect then obviously get an attorney.

YES!!! I'm by nature the prime suspect in the disappearance of my ex(?) who I have not seen for two+ months.
Even if he is innocent (and he may well be) the lawyer is there to defend me and my rights, using him CAN NOT AND CAN NEVER be used against me. Conversely, if I fuck up some memory or statement after I've been in an interview room for seven hours, that can and will be used against me, and could easily result in a false conviction. Just because I have a lawyer doesn't mean I am suspicious or guilty or lying or anything else- it is illegal for a prosecution to even suggest that is the case- it just means I have seen innocent people be wrongly imprisoned and I fear for that happening to me. period.
And hey cops, if her disappearance hasn't been an issue for three months, what's the rush now? You took your sweet time coming to talk to me, why can't I sit down with my legal team for a few hours, make sure I recall the facts correctly and understand what I'm doing, then come over and tell you everything I know?

yes. and free consultations exist too. innocent people SHOULD meet with their lawyer before talking to a cop to make sure they recall the events properly and iron out the facts. By nature police interrogations are meant to disorient you and catch you in your words because it's the best way to dig up the truth. Protecting yourself by dialing up your jew first isn't slimy, it's stopping them from being slimy.

This isn't about giving up your rights, it's countering this idea that you should never talk to the police - even when your interests dovetail with what they are doing. In the case of a missing loved one - it's finding them!

Talking to police without your attorney is giving up your rights. Police may sound like they speak english to you, but they are secretly speaking legalese and your mistranslations of legalese into english- as well intentioned as they may be- can be used to hang you unjustly.

Exactly this. The video submitted goes into some detail how even innocent people, thinking they are helping their cause, express something in an inartful way, or misremember something, any number of ways. The police are trained to do this, have many years experience, and, as I and others have stated before, the spouse or boyfriend in these cases is the prime suspect until something shifts that presumption or suspicion.

This demonstrates how naive you are. Because that is exactly what will result when someone agrees to talk to the police. Cops who are good at it will even feign affability, give the suspect false assurances, luring them into saying things that are harmful to their own well being. I can explain it to you, I can direct you to any number of videos, by lawyers and former cops, explaining why this is a bad idea, but I cannot comprehend it for you.

I wasn't specifically talking about JFGs case, I was responding to the video with the lawyer saying never talk to the police without a lawyer.

With regards to JFG, he shouldn't talk about this to anyone anywhere without a lawyer scrutinising his every word before he utters it. If he's not guilty, then he's a retard of massive proportions for not reporting her missing...
