After what happened last Saturday, the international community will cry about war crimes and wat not. And do absolutely nothing. What Hamas did on Saturday was settle the debate once and for all what would ever happen if the Jewish people in Israel were ever put under their power. This will be a paradigm shift, and the consequences of what Hamas did will reverberate for the next century.look man, I'm not Muslim nor am I Jewish, I'm agnostic. Besides that point, you being so gung-ho about a potential all out scaling offensive of 300,000 against a small terrorist cell likely no more than 20,000 in number is baffling to say the least, and implicates you being war-happy at best. I'm pro-Palestinian in the sense of not wanting regular civilians to die for actions they didn't commit. Are the IDF responsible for protecting themselves, yes, but the severity and scale of this response is not defense, and it likely will escalate this to an all out war. They already had intel prior of Hamas planning on attacking the festival from Egypt and they disregarded it, they unfortunately failed to defend their own citizens. However the rhetoric from Netanyahu of calling for revenge is absurdly over the line and may indicate more than we currently know. I guess being indifferent or "Both sides die, so it's a win for me" is the common belief amongst people like you, but I can only sympathize with people that didn't know about any of this and suffer as a result. Seemingly radical for some without personal investment outside of concern I guess
The Laws of War are predicated solely on reciprocity. If one side abrogates the rules, they cannot then say that their enemy cannot. This is the unwritten law of war. If you kill my POW's, I will kill your POW's. If you kill my civilians, I will kill yours. If you use chemical weapons to make my soldiers die in screaming agony, I will use chemical weapons to make your soldiers die in screaming agony. If you use a flag of truce to dupe me into a massacre, I will use a flag of truce to dupe you into a massacre.
Hamas is operating outside the laws of the war, and as such they are no longer protected by them. As consequence, neither is anyone else under their power. The international community will keep bringing up the laws of war, because that is what they must do, but make no mistake. Gaza will burn for what happened last week, and the architects of the coming apocalypse for Gaza will never be brought to account because...they dindu nuffin.
