I'm going to have to nicely and respectfully disagree. I knew dealers, pit bosses and floor managers for a long time and indeed, the whales are where it is definitely at. Much like plane tickets, 1stclass pretty much give profit for the flight and the economy class is there to cover the basics.Your average casino in America isn't in the market for whales. There is no amount of comps that is bringing in a whale to Baltimre, Detroit, some random river boat on the Ohio, an Indian reservation, etc.
At the strip, I totally agree with you. But for your average casino in the states, it's pretty fucking ghetto.
Half the time, when I'm doing work at one of these places, I don't even stay at their hotel because the rooms are typically run down shit holes and the food sucks.
The regularss pay the bills but every Casino have their whales, because money is everywhere and while we may not see them, they are certainly there. Unlike regulars, they can come in for a few hours in a day once a week and provide revenue for a casino that equals the entirety of all the other patrons there for the week. So they are not often seen, but they are there.
