Grift Wars CENTCOM - Meta discussion for the Grift Wars board.

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
I think the Sam Hyde thread would be a good fit
I’m not entirely sure
Sure he’s a grifter in the sense he’s getting rich off retards superchatting and donating, but he’s not a drama/sektur vying for an audience against other personalities

Plus there’s actual things made at the end, a true and honest grifter shills for a promised product/campaign that will never materialize. Whether or not you think his shit sucks, Hyde has made fishtank, world peace 2 has been shot, and all the smaller Gimmick shit like NFTs
He’s more properly internet famous or just generic lolcow, if grift wars is watered down to every suspicious YouTuber with a Patreon it’s going to be half the threads on the site

A thread for this board is along these lines:
  • Is an online content creator.
  • Is very involved in 'culture war' content.
  • Is a guest on other shows to promote themselves and yell at people.
  • Is primarily funded through their online content.
  • Is not a real activist, and any activism is incidental to their content, not the other way around.

This kind of grifting is a form of fig leaf. People refuse to admit they’re entertainers and instead insist it’s an important part of the culture war. It’s like the swimsuit issue or “just chatting”. We all know why the simps are there. It they pretend it’s otherwise.

It can be hard to see from the outside at first because an actual person doing actual things who spends some time talking about it online for some cash is exactly how the grifters want to appear.

And being a grifter doesn’t mean you sometimes get results, almost accidentally.

Hmm, Owen Benjamin, Hasan Piker, Sargon maybe, Jimquisition maybe, Jordan Peterson likely, hmm that's about all I have in mind.

I'm really torn if BreadTube belongs on this board. Despite producing fucktons of e-grifters and people who make money talking about politics online, the thread was largely intended for the broader community who don't have followings. The users of the various BreadTube community who simply wish to discuss cultural and political affairs from their perspective without seeking money. I'm all for individuals from that corner with massive followings belonging here, but does it follow that the community itself belongs here, too? I don't think so.

I think it does.
Given the parameters of the board and the fact categorization is meant to align characters of most similar interest to users (rather than just categorizing who on paper is most like who else) the smaller breadtubers without their own threads are exactly the type of small-fish grifters looking to upstage their comrades in viewership

If they don’t seek money, it’s because they’re not big enough to capitalize on viewers, not because they genuinely have an idealistic opposition.

A personal cow of mine, Karlyn Borysenko, might fit here, especially since she’s been warming up to Nick Fuentes as of late.
Also:
Keffals
Duncan Macleod
Scott Adams
Candace Owens
Ben Garrison
Alex Jones?
Paul Joseph Watson?
Not sure if I understand this board right; but I nominate KingCobraJFS.
He goes live: "what up YouTubes, my account is $-400"
Paypigs shell out: "Catch you later 'Tubes"
The Boglim doesn’t get involved in the culture wars to the same extent as everyone in this board so far has. Our boy is fine where he is.

Should we ditch the Killstream/Ralph’s tweets threads in favor of one Gunt media thread? For me it’s been awkward keeping up with two threads for the same guy on different platforms.

  • Agree
Reactions: 6thRanger
Well, if these changes are here then I nominate Franny. He left the catboy ranch just weeks ago but continues culture war grifting.

Will there be a meta thread with a guideline for what belongs, specifically, in IF and not GW?

I really like the idea I'm just a bit confused if the IF board will still be around, and what the main difference between the two boards are.
