Hold on, did Riley really film the Vegas show? My impression was he didn't. I thought it was just some random who offered to do it on the fly and that there was talk about how it was going to be professionally done the next time.

Then the Nashville audio was even worse and essentially inaudible.

During the 7 hour meltdown stream Nick admitted that Riley filmed the Nashville show, which I believe was the first confirmation that Nick had a business relationship with Riley, but I don't think he said anything about Vegas at that time.

Yes but it was a crossover live show with Dick. Nick just sat next to Dick and didn't get up, and they didn't want to make a scene. Someone posted the WATP people talking about Nick and it was pretty clear they were pissed, but they probably didn't want to piss Dick off by telling Nick to get the fuck off the stage.

The playbook is the same, exploit the fact that some people involved like and are associated with you and think of you as a big deal to steal the limelight.

To defend Nick in this instance, though, the headliner cancelled with no(?) notice. It kind of makes sense for him to take up more time than anticipated in this context.

I will quickly recap that the Steel Toe guys mention that Nick only had TEN minutes, not thirty minutes. They say they told Nick they'd shine lights at ten minutes to let him know to stop, and he completely ignored the lights. They told him when the light blinks to wrap up and stop his current bit, and he ignored this light too. He stared at the lights instead of stopping.

I guarantee he knew the whole time and he did this on purpose because he gets off on manipulating people by playing stupid.

There's some superficial similarities between the three, I guess. Just like there's gonna be similarities between every thread in the new Grift Wars subforum. I think it comes down to the overall presentation and subject matter though.

Rich mainly does videos of about 5-10-15 minutes in length in which he goes over some tech or social media drama. Historically, videos of that length and format seem to do very well on Youtube. No specific educational degree is seen as necessary to cover the subject matter he is. He also covers topics people are actually interested in or are trending. Like, SSSniperwolf, for example. Put more simply, right now, Rich's grift game is on-point. Doesn't mean I like him, but it seems to be paying off for him. Just like the Amber Heard shit paid dividends for lots of people.

Nick... well, I don't need to explain to this thread what Nick is doing these days. He's not even doing much of it on Youtube. Nick tried short-form edited content before, but that's actual work, so you can forget about it.

Spectre, in the cases he does stream non-gaming content, seems to try and follow the mold of "old Nick," where he sits in front of the camera for hours at a time, reads legal documents, and gives his opinions (Null pointed out years ago how much Spectre is trying to ape Nick). Except, unlike Nick, he simply doesn't have the credentials to gain a ton of subs. He's not a lawyer, and people know that.

So much of Nick's prior success wasn't just what he covered, but the air of credibility he had while covering it (legal topics). To some poor ignorant fools, Nick is still seen as credible, but not to the same extent he once was. I think more and more people are figuring out he's full of shit despite possessing a J.D.. Meanwhile, his current streams are just utter bloated garbage where we watch him continue to drink himself to death.
