Alan Wake II - The highly anticipated sequel that no one cared about to a game from 2010 that no one cared about

The worst part with Alan Wake 2 is that I went into Control, the game Remedy made a few years back and it expected it to be woke horseshit. But it was actually a really fun game with a lot of really awesome ideas and was genuinely cool when things were being connected to their past games. On top of that the lead character was pretty likable too….. I was hoping that’s what this was but like even looking past the woke shit it’s just so damn boring, and makes me think that the people who gave a shit at Remedy all left…… My last point on this is that Sam Lake is a mega faggot and I’d have been happier if they just never bothered with this game to begin with.

Maybe Alan Wake isn't a popular franchise in the mainstream way of things. Remedy games have always underperformed compared to their competition.

Does Sam Lake work for Remedy or is he just an actor?

it’s got some jank, bugs and shit and it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. It’s pretty weak in some areas of the survival aspect especially if you played stuff like Conan, The Forest etc, but it’s charming. I’d also recommend pirating it if that’s a option for you so you aren’t wasting money on something that you think sucks and then you blame me for suggesting something you hate hahah.

I haven't played the first one. I have its DLC when it was free, but not the base game itself. I should get around on playing it. Control is regularly on sale, but I'm confused if it has next-gen features.
 
I loved Control and I did enjoy Alan Wake but Alan Wake 2 is kind of meh. And it's not the wild amount of "hurrdurr white male" and "white man bad black woman good" woke blabbering for a videogame, because that's there. It's just boring. Story is a tiny bit below mediocre and gameplay is tedious. Seriously for fuck's sake compare Control gameplay and this. Played it for like 4 hours and forgot it even existed until this thread.
Good thing I pirated this trash. I don't think i'll ever buy a video game again if they keep producing garbage like Alan Wake 2

And i'm really getting tired of having "whitey bad" shoved down my throat by every piece of media imaginable. I'm seriously going to stop watching, playing and listening to anything released after 2012.

I was watching Griffin Gaming play it and the weirdest part of the game is how fucking unphased Shaniqua is by everything.

Like she'll see the corpse of a naked fat bald guy with his heart ripped out get up off the operating table, shriek like a banshee, and run out the door and her dialogue is like "huh that was weird, something strange is going on here" in the most flat, monotone, bored voice imaginable.

Saga (sheboon's name) Isn't Alan Wake, she's not Agent Pendergast, she's not Chris Redfield, she's not someone who deals with weird paranormal shit on a daily basis, she's just a cop.

There's no excuse for this apart from the voice actress being a poor actor and unable to emote.

But then again, are they forced to include at least one "shit on white men" dialogue for every 5 hours of gameplay? Is it a requirement if you want investment? Or are developers really sitting there thinking of what the game lacks and suddenly they all agree it's women empowerment, niggers and bashing whitey? It's one of these two.

There's been a lot of buzz on the twatters about a Canadian (of course) company called Sweet Baby being involved in the writing as "sensitivity readers" and other nonsense. They've been around since 2018 and have been involved in a lot of high profile soy games like the new God of War. The company's been blocking anybody who noticed their involvement.

They just started production apparently. Honestly I'm amazed they are still in business with all the shit games they put out.

Let's be real here Max Payne is the only memorable thing they have made in their entire existence. People praise alan wake but the only thing worth a dam was the max Payne cameo. It wasn't scary, it wasn't interesting and the gameplay was meh.

Really don't get why people liked it. The main guy was average and the story has been done before better.
