I swear, parts of the Midwest are what the US could have been if we hadn't let all the undesirables in. I grew up around 1st gen Serbian and Polish families and eating there food all the time. They slowly built businesses and expanded to create some amazing food experiences in towns under 50k pop. Then you look at what the cities have become and realize there is a certain element that makes that life impossible.I live in the US and eat high quality raw beef and onions now and then. Bout to have some this weekend again and GOD IS IT GOOD. You haven't lived till you've tasted fresh raw beef.
Used to live next to an Italian deli that had the gabagool imported from Italy and fresh mozzarella still in the brine container too.
Its not practical for most people to find and it costs more. But it exists. Lets just say midwest is a good place to get fresh cheese and meat.
Won't provide any pictures sadly cause I really don't want to reveal anything as the places I get my stuff from aren't chains.
