Im really curious to see how they'll shit up Maria. Her character is meant to be James's ideallization of Mary. She is not her own person, she doesn't have any aspirations or hopes, she exists for James, she lives and dies because of James. There is never any self reflection about her own situation in the game. Born from a Wish (Title says it all) is about her accepting her role in James's journey

Expect a scene with Pyramid Head's helmet comes off and it snaps zooms to reveal... it's James!

This game will have all the subtly of a plane crashing into a train.

Spoiler: It will not be handled well. Maria is a rare type of character. If you get to the end, there's a few alternatives. Maria is a temptress and wholly exists to test and see if James has any sort of morality left. James accepts Maria (succubus) learns nothing, being forced to repeat the cycle. In which case, Mary becomes end game boss. Or James chooses Mary and Maria gets frustrated with her role as existing solely to tempt James, then being rejected, making her entire purpose void. And she is the end boss. The tragedy is that she is simulacra, and her first act of freedom is to kill her reason for existence, but cannot in any way, and dies for it.
Maria is such a cool fucking character. Can be broken down to "Sex Tulpa Who Exists Solely to Test A Man's Devotion to His Wife, But Also Gains Enough Free Will To Be Angry About That Fact". Way too based and cool for modern times.
Unless Bloob keeps their promise for it to just be 1:1 with new graphics, odds are we'll get an ending where Maria and Mary "Fuck The Patriarchy" and kill James, then leave Silent Hill to be dykes or tell everyone they're long lost twins.

When they cry ( I only watched the 1st anime) is actually pretty cool when you get past the weebness. I can see them pulling it off. They had pretty good madness scenes.

I have never seen Silent Hill, but I have heard that the set design was topnotice and the main issue was the script.
Is it worth watching?

Yes I really enjoyed it. It's all practical effects and genuinely unnerving.

Sequel is supposed to be over the top shit so I really need to go see it. Especially for the hammy, out of place Malcolm McDowell Cameo. Legit hyped for the sh2 movie.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe the look of pyramid head actually predates James as a cultist executioner thing? It does represent his guilt but it did take on preexisting legends of the town if I'm not mistaken. Probably still gonna be shit but it would be interesting if it just involves the original "owner" of the outfit.



The shit show with the bad robot game is hilarious. I haven't heard a dam thing online before I read this thread and something tells me indifference is going to be far worse for this game then hate. I'll bet a dollar they have to release this as a retail product after it's all over to recoup costs.

It's two halves of a pair of scissors, symbolizing the schism between James and his memories/everything else. PH literally attacks you with a tool made to split.
