From a quick search the most sold paper comic is xmen #1 for 8.9 million buys at 12 cents in 1963 which seems to amount to about 10 million in today's money, Eric made 3 million off raising for isom 1, I doubt all the little side shit that has major movies made now spun off from xmen sold that much, Comics are niche and hype is as transient as a the quick disposable reading material itself, can we stop with this cope that Eric needs to singlehandedly outsell record making marvel issues each time or he's a failure who needs his family raped?

Perhaps Vito should spend less time ACKACKACKACKing at Eric and do the shit he was paid to do. Maybe figure out a way to speed up production on his comic instead of delaying it like a schmuck
From the way these guys talk, you would think Eric is moments away from becoming broke. In just a little over a year he's made nearly $7million in sales over 3 campaigns and has a 4th coming up soon which is also probably going to do well. He's not Marvel or DC. He's a small independent company selling comics so that's a decent amount of money to be had. Expenses aside, unless he's literally setting money on fire, I'm pretty sure the guy has a nice nestegg to work with.

He seems to be fairly smart with his money. The whole reason this new comic is cheaper than the past two is because he was able to use the money from the previous two campaigns to put towards lowering the cost of making/shipping the comics.

On the topic of constant laughing: it gets brought up a lot, and justifiably so, but I do kind of wonder why it in particular is so grating and insufferable when compared to two other examples. Cum Town had constant laughter from Stav, and I know a couple people who hated listening to it because of that. Maybe it was just an exposure thing on my part, where I'd listened to it enough to where I'd gotten used to it and it's now just background noise. But after a while it almost did feel like something that helped the show and the momentum of the jokes, and even though I like the Adam Friedland Show, the jokes mightn't make me laugh in the same way they did in Cum Town, and I do almost thing the momentum of Stav laughing added to that or maybe gave someone like Nick more confidence to execute a joke. So why doesn't it work for Dick? I think the reason why is that, subjectively speaking, nothing that's being said feels like it warrants uproaring laughter. Dick did laugh a lot back in the pre-2020 days, but it always felt like he laughed at something that was absurd or a legitimately funny jab. I also think Dick's style of humour doesn't gel with constant barrages of laughter. It works for Cum Town because Cum Town was intentionally trying to be dumb and there were punchlines and improvised bits they'd do, so laughter is an appropriate reward (for lack of a better word) for that. Dick's humour isn't like that; I always compared Dick's comedy to Bill Burr, where it's more about being a funny storyteller or making people laugh through how angry he seems. So the forced laughter just interrupts the flow. But more importantly, there are times where it's very clear he's forcefully laughing to try and make a weak jab at someone, and any attempt for him to try and say it's self deprecating or ironic is a lie because it's clearly not delivered in that way. When he played a clip of Josh saying visiting Isom Knox's gravestone was not funny, he said "well, I mean, who's a professional comedian?" with no degree of sarcasm or irony, and then laughed as if that wasn't something that made him seem like an extreme narcissist.
So that's why laughter works in a show like Cum Town and not in TDS, but the other example I think of is Metokur. Jim would laugh a lot in his streams and there are times he's laughed in a way that would make him seem like he's bragging or being cocky. So then why does that work and not for Dick? Is it a subjective thing, that when I hear Jim laugh at Mersh or Ralph's stream numbers it's funny but it feels unwarranted and desperate when Dick does it. I think the kicker is that there's really very little, if anything, you can criticise Jim for. I don't want to feed this idea that he's this infallible, untouchable God who you can't slander, and even he tries to humble himself whenever people start acting like he's the IBS/GamerGate Messiah, but really I can't think of a single person who's managed to challenge him in an intelligent way, because there's nothing you can say. His "flaws" - being 43 and having cancer - are internal and something that reflects badly on him, and making fun of someone dying of cancer is as tasteless as you can get. Even when Fuentes tried to say "wow you're just smug and aloof", the counter is that he's not done that out of any sense of insecurity, needing to mock others to hide his own flaws. But with Dick, there's so much you can make fun of him for, and it's only compiled as the years have gone on, from the JuJu the Cow/simp texts to defending Digibro to defending Cuties to defending Vito to whatever the fuck state he's out now. So when he tries to seriously tries to flex his bragging rights, not only does it come across as him being on some ridiculously high horse, but it's so easy to challenge it by pointing at his ten million flaws.
So it both fails to be funny in the context of a comedy podcast and fails to show how smug and aloof he is. It just comes across as really, really fucking annoying.
