I remember back in the day, there was a Final Fantasy VI fansite run by a rabid fangirl who explicitly made her passive aggressive passes at Xenogears. I was too young to understand her rabid nonsensical PMS run ravings but she explicitly, ravenously, fanatically stated how much she thought Xenogears wasn't a good game in attempts as trollbait. She's probably nowadays one of those Pixar art loser types who tries to cover up her weeaboo days at all costs and likely eats carpet too.

And if you think Final Fantasy House was all that there was to Western Final Fantasy fanaticism, hoo boy you're wrong. There was a place called the alt boards or something, and all related are losers, but some guy by the name of J-hoh Cabal Show documented how the place had Final Fantasy forum which contained a pedophile and how he frequented the place too. He also ousted a fat spic pedo out on Gaia Online, but J-hoh isn't all that good of a guy, he's literally a hipster burnout loser at this point.

Dragon Ball Z VS Sailor Moon Fans was something I probably covered but it deserves further delving. This was practically GI Joe VS Barbie/Boys VS Girls toys but amped up over 9000 and documented how retardedly unprepared the mental and creative capacities of US children and adults were for anime shit. Minds were fucking blown when the Western thought of "only men like nerdy stuff" was challenged with nerdy shit actually made by women out in Japan. It was amazing.

Harmony Korine, which is strange because he is such a small blip on the radar these days. He's a strange filmmaker that made films that are hard to describe and even harder to forget. Drug user and 90s edgy boy but in an arthouse sort of way. Him being banned from the David Letterman's Late Show would peak interest on the farms. The thread would have died out fast, though. I do recommend his early films, they are something else.
