Maybe I'm looking in the wrong places but the modern right seems very negative. It's against globalism, transgenderism, uncontrolled immigration, censorship, mandatory vaccination, technocracy and rule by NGOs, the list goes on. But what is it for? What should a right-wing government do to improve things? Or does the right believe that its ultimate goal is just to put an end to the bad stuff?
Here are some things a moderate right-wing government could do or at least
ostensibly say they would do if in power at least in the USA (objectives would vary country to country):
1. Keep taxes where they are or lower them but be sure to close loopholes in the tax code.
2. Oppose mandatory vaccination unless in extremely dire circumstances such as a disease or illness having a high fatality rate without any vaccines. There could be legal repercussions for proposing it
3. Maintain or restore old gun rights while maybe
4. Require more transparency from federal agencies.
5. Put more emphasis on border security, enforcement of immigration laws and promote natalism as an alternative to relying on immigrants. Aim to gradually lower immigration and dependence on foreign labor over a period of years as nation would need time to adjust and for children to grow.
6. Reform the US army and prune it of it the ineffective and wannabe commissars that is the senior command by utilizing a president's commander in chief position. Keep budget high but decrease wasteful spending though.
7. Potentially limit what interactions a government and private company can have in regards to having a corporation be used as a legal loophole to go against constitutional amendments.
8. Aim to lower the cost of living and address the housing crisis. Attempt to restore social mobility. It would be optimal for people to make enough money off of a single job to live their life.
9. Bring some form merit back to the work place rather then there being "diversity quotas"
10. Try to stop the country from going into even more national debt.
11. Support "green energy" within reason and utilize nuclear power.
12. Pro-life but in a discrete way and do the legal bare minimum in order to not anger opposition that will make single-issue voters turn out over the idea.
13. Crack down on corruption.
14. Limit or stop federal student loans given to colleges in order to pursue a dual purpose of making college cheaper hopefully while also delivering a blow to the left-wing academia that usually invests the institutions. Would also put an end to the endless cycle of people whining about debt forgiveness.
15. Do something to address Medicaid or Social Security because if not it will go bust within the next 10-20 years.
16. Address the indoctrination and "education" that goes on in the public school system that turns out generations of students more liberal then the last.
18. Support private property and individualism but seek to prevent socially destructive hyperindividualism which focuses on the self far too much.
17. Limit the amount of foreign wars the country is involved in though if it must be done make sure the situation at home isn't too bad before hand.
These are some ideas a conservative government could use as part of their agenda. There are more extreme ones on the table as well but sometimes those don't go over too well due to their usually harsh and brutal nature.
