Culture The Bull Pit - Pitbull News Megathread - aka sperginity speds out agendaposting

https://www.cheknews.ca/pit-bull-attack-near-nanaimo-injures-two-children-and-one-woman-450395/

Two 8-month-old pit bulls that were loose in Nanaimo attacked several children, severely injuring at least one. Other people that came to aid the children were also injured.

The children were playing in a yard at the house of one of their friends. The dogs were from somewhere else in the neighborhood and had been cited for being at large previously.

One of the owners of the dogs came and got the dogs but did not stick around. The news interviewed the other owner, a Dangerhair that looked to be in her late 40s or early 50s. While she was devastated at what her dogs had done, she said to the reporter, "People are saying, look at this from the prospective of a parent, well, these dogs are my kids, too," and then she broke down crying.

It was later reported both dogs were euthanized, as there have been other incidents prior to this one, and due to the severity of the injuries the one particular child sustained.

To the dangerhair dog owner I would have to say, "If these dogs were your KIDS, you did a lousy job of raising them. Thank heavens you didn't spawn any of your own."

For some good news, the r/BanPitBulls subreddit reached 100K members on Wednesday afternoon (November 15, 2023). It was sitting around 50K just last year. The growth of the subreddit has been quite staggering to say the least. There'd probably be even more members, but many current members have reported being automatically banned from other animal subreddits just for having commented in this one.

I think this is a sign of people becoming more open about their dislike of the nanny dog menace, and more people hitting "peak pitbull" due to the constant attacks, deaths, general destructiveness, and the viciousness of pitmommies. Plus, all of the COVID puppies are hitting that magic age or did last year.
Only thing about that is that much like pitbulls, reddit subs also have a "magic number" which is 100k.

Once a sub that reddit doesn't like hits that threshold, r/AHS and others start brigading, mass reporting, trying to sneak in mods to overthrow the existing staff, or just outright banning the sub.

Yes, that's what I've seen people saying for a while now. The mods thought their "monthly love letters" were a problem then they haven't seen anything coming.

Here's a weird dude I found.

This guy on Facebook seems to make AI pit images to try selling them as his own art. He also may sell actual pitbull dogs. It's hard to tell, really, he's all over the place.

He's also an author of pitfics. He likes writing strange random stories or historical fiction, with massive pitbulls added in, plus the art for them.

There's tons of these things. War pits, Dino pits, wild west pits, the list goes on...

I think maybe he's trying to make a book or something? This is one bizarre creative writing project.

Unles he's having AI write these stories too? He's super prolific. He almost has to be...

Wow. I think I might sense the beginnings of a new lolcow, possibly a new "artcow." Civil War fanfics featuring pitbulls? I can't wait until some pitmommy uses his Facebook post fanfics as a source for "Abraham Lincoln loved pibbles!!!"

Anyway, here is an archive for a 2011 study which found that pitbulls are sterilized (spayed/neutered) at the lowest rates. They are also the most euthanized.

I’d agree but all the pits I ever met were Hoover Dogs who would eat anything edible.
Anti-pitbull bullshit is basically racism against dogs.

Every pitbull I've ever encountered has not only not been hostile, but been so full of love they'll slobber all over your face and do anything they possibly can to get your approval.

The only mean ones are raised by white trash or ghetto groids, usually meth or crack dealers, who literally deliberately abuse them to make them mean.
Bold of you to hate black people with the intensity of a thousand fiery suns, but also Stan their dogs as if they’re perfect angels.

I just have to hard disagree. I’ve met some OK PB mixes, but I’ve met way too many purebred PBs, bullies, etc that were destructive machines. They start fights with bigger dogs, bite and don’t let go, and they were all badly housebroken. They’re impulsive, hard to train, so many people neglect them and that just worsens the issues. And I say this as someone who was hired to care for these specific pit bulls at the rate of $60 per night, so I doubt these were “white trash dogs”. I also learned to dislike Rotties for similar reasons.

We will see if the subreddit goes dark. Afaik it’s the only place to be even vaguely realistic about pit bulls without having your comments axed for breed racism or whatever.

It does look as if the whole "it's the owner not the breed!" thing is turning and people are acknowledging that yes dog temperament and behavior is 90% genetic and that's why these nannies maul toddlers at such high rates.

Some people I know who bought the whole "pibbles are innocent and golden retrievers are actually more violent and bite happy!" are actually coming around that pibble is actually disproportionately responsible for dog-on-dog/dog-on-human maulings and deaths and that maybe the dogbreed is a problem.

Over the weekend, a girl I know was all excited about adopting a dog. She was getting a purebred Shar Pei. I asked where she found one, and she said it was at a nearby shelter and she'd found it on Petfinder (aka Pitfinder). I told her to be careful because they lie about breeds and it's probably some sort of ugly pitbull.

She sent this picture to prove me wrong and that it was indeed a full blooded Shar Pei:

I told her that's just a pit, and she got upset because "she doesn't discriminate about breeds" and "a Shar Pei is actually a Japanese pitbull."

But by the time she went to see it, someone else had already snatched it up. I imagine she'll probably just end up with another goofy Labrador like she's always had, and continue not getting mauled.

Yeah cuz Shar Peis were bred for fighting till death and are so dumb their survival instinct doesn't exci- oh wait no, she's just tarded.
Her excuse she gave when I told her that dog was a pit was that it doesn't matter if it's a pit or not because pits and Shar Peis are basically the same thing. I told her Shar Peis were Chinese guard dogs, but she insisted pits and Shar Peis were both bred for hunting large game, therefore same thing really.

A hunting dog would still not be her best choice because she basically wants a mellow companion for her house, farm, and going for car rides. She's always had black labs in the past, which were happy and lazy and easy to train, so why wouldn't any other breed be? She refuses to discriminate.

She's apparently given up for now, because everyone she's tried roping into her dog search is "too negative. "

Golden retrievers love to play fetch because they were bred to retrieve shot down game. Rottweilers are very strong and protective (and can be very dangerous as a result) because they were bred to be all purpose farm dogs. No one will argue these things but second you say pitbulls were bred for blood sports and therefor have a penchant towards extreme violence suddenly pitbulls, and pitbulls alone, are these tabula rasa dogs that have zero instinctual breed traits. It's maddening.
