This video is way more entertaining than the Hbomb video, and I felt like it gave me a reason to care about this James Somerton guy other than "look, here's all the times he plagiarized someone else". It's a shame a lot of this wasn't touched on because some of this guy's takes (the ones we know he came up with himself, at least) are utterly batshit.
This is alluded to in the video somewhat, but I get the sense that Somerton is a misogynist in that really bitchy way that gay men are. And as some of Hbomb's fans have put it, "cis white gay men are the straight white men of the LGBT community". Somerton doesn't have the social capital to punch down in the way that he does, so for a certain subset of people he's been a very juicy target for a while.

Because they hate the person who made the video, they want to defend the person in the video and shit on hbomberguy because he is a loser. However, James Somerton is indefensible. That means that they need to defend IH regardless of how relevant he actually is or if they even genuinely believe what he did was kosher or not.
I think its garnering such attention as its mostly segment to snipe on IH for some reason and its mostly political stuff when it comes to IH segment for some reason.
Yeah, I suppose saying that he only copied a couple of words when many sentences were shown being copied is a good argument. The article is still up, we can see he copied a lot, but randomly saying it was "some words" really is a good defense.

I just want to point out that the SpongeBob SquarePants Rehydrated fan film got DMCA'd by Viacom and they fought and won. It's literally a 1:1 recreation of the first movie. Same script. Same stuff happens in the same order. It's just been completely reanimated by different animators that switch every few minutes. They also redid all the VA and music (although the music sounds very similar to the original). I'm just saying. If that's fair use I fail to see how IH's video isn't.
I never cared about Metokur and I don't "follow" IH beyond watching many of his videos. I suspect the reason everyone's focusing on him is because he's the only person in the video that anyone actually gives a fuck about. To me, this video is just a generic commie sex pest sneeding about a bunch of irrelevant nobodies and also IH. Therefore if I wanted to discuss it, I'd hyper focus on the IH section.
