So obviously Rockstar don't really need to bother marketing anymore to ensure the next GTA will be a success but as someone who has casually played most of the games over the years I absolutely fail to see what's supposed to hook me in with this trailer. Pretty much the only thing they showed is the revolting setting. A hint of what the story and action might have been wouldn't have hurt. No I don't care if this is how GTA has always done its trailers. It was shit then and it is shit now. Games used to be released within a year or two back then so any uninformative trailer would have very quickly been followed up by another trailer, not to mention the game releasing.
Also an awful lot of complaining about complaining going on here. Try Reddit. You'll only see updooted posts by your fellow marketing friends and zero icky racism.

Nothing that I recall. Most of it was meh, generic stuff you would expect from something as edgy as GTA, mind you a lot of stuff was copypasted from GTA V for beta version reasons.
The Chinese data harvesting was actually the funniest part that stuck to memory. I managed to find that part.

But that's not what we've been doing. It's been pages of people getting pissed off at the setting being depicted and trying to argue that it's inaccurate or degenerate and subversive when it's really just depicting what it is. If there's going to be any decent criticism and discussion of this game on the assigned discussion thread of the game then multiple opinions should be discussed alongside each other.

The emphasis on a girl protagonist is sus, the cheesy one liner and trust shit sucked. There were some funny scenes in that tiktok thing they had going on, but a lot of it was gay Florida cringe too.
As I understand it, a lot of old guard R* left the company after RDR2, including much of the writer crew. Writers are generally the main pushers for woke shit in games, so depending on who are the new guys, we'll have the amount of woke we'll get. Personally, I don't trust modern corporate R* to be as strong against the woke shit as a lot of people think they will be.

Not really, they've never had PC at launch.

GTA 2 was the last one to be released on the same day as the PS1 version, and that was 24 years ago. I suspect we will be waiting a least a year for a PC version of 6.
It took them 1 and a half years to port 5 to the PC after all.

GTA 5 is the only one that kinda sucked and so did RDR 2.
GTA 6 is probably going to be the first 3D GTA that I won't actually pay money for (not including handheld or mobile games)

I'm honestly getting to the point where I'm almost [but not quite] as annoyed with the people who kneejerk react to every single thing with "OPE LOOK HERE THERE'S NIGGERS IN THE GAME, IT'S WOKE TRASH!" as I have been for many years with the leftoids who police everything for being 'problematic'. Genuinely, it's like everything has cycled through and come back full circle. In the 80s through to the early 2000s, you had a small [but particularly loud] group of fundy rightoid religious people trying to get shit pulled from shelves and claiming that if you ever once consumed any sort of secular content, you were going to hell. You had people like Jack Thompson trying to get shit censored because "killing people in bing bing wahoo means you'll undoubtedly kill people in real life!". You had a significant number of people on "the right" trying to police content and complain about people enjoying things. Then, from 2011-2012 or so and up until ${CurrentYear}, you had an extremely loud and obnoxious, virulent mass of leftoids bitching about everything because there weren't enough fat Muslim gay disabled black women in media, not enough 'representation' of 'marginalized groups', and people like Sarkeesian whining about how women in vidya are too oversexualized. They were the predominant "No Fun Brigade" of the 2010s and still are now, except now you have a sizeable number of people on the right who see a black guy in a video game or a female protagonist and it's instantly degenerate woke trash and you should never again participate in hobbies, consume modern media or eat "goyslop" because everything is degenerate and gay and retarded. They're not there yet, not as loud and not nearly as obnoxious but they're trying to take the title for being the 2020's "No Fun Brigade".

It's really enough to give you fucking whiplash. I used to think horseshoe theory was retarded but damn, it really has come full circle. I'm not shilling for the game because judging from recent images of Rockstar's development team, it will probably be a buggy clusterfuck on release. It'll likely have all of the other unsavory earmarks of modern AAA titles, like aggressive monetization, grindy mechanics to get NEETs hooked, multiplayer that's AIDS and overrun by mod menu niggas dropping tug boats on your head and maybe even a few lines about le evil Blonald Drumpf, but for fuck's sake seeing niggers in the trailer is the least of my potential bones to pick with it.

I don't buy jack shit on day one of release, never really have and usually wait at least six months before even trying to pirate it, but the dialogue about this 90 second fucking trailer is sounding more deranged by the minute. Honestly some people need to fucking unplug and fucking chill out from time to time. Constant immersion in this ultimately meaningless culture war shit is not good for anyone and it makes people start sounding unhinged as fuck. Additionally, I always see a fuckton of people bitching about how shit and woke and gay everything is, but who the fuck is going to fix it? In order to "win" the culture war you have to fucking participate in the culture to some degree or try to make better content yourself. If people put even 1/4 of the energy they put into furiously screaming about how gay and woke everything is into making something worthwhile, we'd probably have some fucking content that wasn't gay and woke to watch/play.

Honestly, it looks pretty good. Graphics are unfinished but so far, awesome. Soundtrack is probably banging based on the preview. I like that it seems to be making fun of itself (and the cesspool that is Florida at large).

I don't mind waiting until 2025. I'd rather the devs take their time and deliver a quality game that doesn't break or bug out. We've had enough rushed releases that turned out to be garbage for replay to last a lifetime.

It's one thing if it's fantasy or a place where you wouldn't expect to find minorities, that I can at least understand, but whenever it's somewhere situated in or based on real life locations (New York, Miami etc.) then I never understand the surprise.

Anyway yeah, don't buy on launch. Open world shit always needs release date + 2 months minimum to iron out bugs.
