If you clip that out of context, you could think Nick is talking about himself ans following this as a prescription for life!
Haven’t seen the movie but get the idea enough from Nick going on about it & from comments here but haven’t been able to puzzle out why exactly Nick is so enamored with this film.
Nick saying the movie didn’t clarify if the girl is 17 or 18 is giving vibes of when people say “well ackshully, Epstein wasn’t a pedophile, he’s an ephebophile…”
Whatever, the Lester character is still trying to screw a teenage girl in high school, the legal or technical age distinction isn’t really the point here. Dude in the movie was a loser who deserved a bullet either way.
Nick is trying to make like Lester was some hero or martyr because he died after not molesting a teenager? Saying in the end Lester did the “right” thing & Nick puts air quotes on “right”, like if only Lester didn’t take the prude route he would have lived, tragic.
Nick painting Lester as the good guy because he had a shrew wife & lusted after a teenaged friend of his daughter but didn’t go through with any sex is similar to when Vito tweeted something about how society should accept “non-offending” (sure, bud) pedos.
It really does seem like Nick sees himself as a version of Lester & if so, what the hell.

Nick tells Dick they have a nanny they hired to help with the driving because the kids schedules are so hectic. Sometimes when she is in town waiting on a kid to finish an activity she goes to Walmart & buys food. She wasn’t hired for that, but that’s what she does. Everything she buys is just “bullshit”, Nick can’t cook any of it. It’s all just sugary treats & other snacks. Nick wonders “why does she shop like this? Is this what goes wrong with people’s lives? Is this why people are fat?” Nick tells Dick he is going to send him the amount that is spent on snacks for his family every month. He doesn’t want to say the amount aloud & he doesn’t remember that he already told it in the clip with Sean. ($3,300, up from the previous 2k per mo.)
Dick flips out over the amount when he sees it. Dick wonders how that much is spent. Nick does not know. He’s completely mystified but notes that the amount now spent on snacks is more than the food budget was back when he was cooking every day. (Unclear when that was but implies he now doesn’t cook. As was said upthread, its been 2k on snacks for a long time)
Nick & Dick continue to marvel until Nick admits he should maybe have a word with the nanny & ask her how she spends so much or tell her to not do that because shopping isn’t even her job. Nick says he has never before questioned her on why so much is spent on snacks nor has he asked her not to shop. She brings him the receipts & he gives her the money, says nothing, then ponders it in his mind & seethes over it (& talks about it on video) but thus far he’s not spoken to her directly. Dick suggests he should accept the receipts & then go yell in another room loud enough for the nanny to hear & then she will catch on to not spend so much or not to shop like that etc.
Nick has a better idea, he is going to hang all his guns on the wall. Ordered from biggest to smallest…. He doesn’t get to finish how this would send the appropriate message or how the nanny would intuitively know what he means because Dick cuts him off with something stupid & Nick looses his train of thought & they move off the topic. The gun thing was weird though, because yeah its obviously a joke, but intimidating people with a weapon is an actual crime & that aside, what a little bitch he is that he can’t have a normal conversation with a woman he employs & instead must plot with Dick on a livestream.
