With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

Is it worth watching the standup routines? Should I try to find them on X?

I think S2 is going great. I'm feeling like every Fish and Freeloader is adding something to the mix. Couldn't say I have a favorite, just that there's one tier of people I hope make it for the long haul and another who I'm happy to have around but don't think deserve a win or could provide long-term content. Delaney is the only exception but she isn't annoying or loud so I don't explicitly want her gone and maybe she'll come into it at some point.

Frankly I don't care about downtime and in fact I hope we have some coming up. A 24/7 show like this needs low periods. Watchers and Fish could probably both use some time off. If I kept following the show like I have over the past 4 days, well, my life would suffer.

The stuff with TJ and Taylor while he’s smoking a cigar is essential watching before the elimination. Including that fetal position conversation between Sam and TJ.

The first few minutes of the TJ interrogation/ psych evaluation bit was some of the most cringe-inducing tension I've felt because I thought Sam was working up to his rule34 account reveal.

TJ really is the epitome of apathy. It's repulsive , but this is an insane asylum and the purpose is rehabilitation so maybe he will return to his flower mill having learned something. Wouldn't bet money on it but it's pretty clear that's what Sam is going for.

TJ’s stakes just shot through the roof. If he doesn’t push himself then he betrayed the Taylor for nothing. If I were Sam and Jet I’d make sure TJ understood this pressure.

if you can believe the polls (you can't), it was unanimously in favor of shinji, and taylor was close second. audience was split on kicking off tj or jimmy, both of which are still on.

(they HAD to get rid of taylor OR jimmy. liability but also just was too real, the hate)

even though it's manufactured, the autistic childbrain of tj can't see it (feel bad for him kind of like a puppy, but tbh the stimming was/is so cringe).
thinks the reality, finding the nicest person to be near, was like romantic.

I'm convinced that Taylor was a friend of the crew or a prostitute who agreed to woo TJ. They probably didn't expect his standup routine to be so psychotically bad and yanking her would be a means of furthering his arc while making up for the flub where so many fish went home early. This elimination round was always a ruse.

The only time he ever spoke lucidly was to Chip at one point. It was shocking because he actually sounded human.
 
So I've enjoyed pretty much the whole season, especially with them crushing tj last night. The most wild thing about this show is how fickle the audience is. After cole left people were harping on about how it was the end of the show but it's seemed to be night after night of shit going down. Then there's things like people still competing that the polls meaning nothing lol. At this point it feels like some folks are being willfully stupid just to whine
 
Here is the TJ elimination in it's full. This has been my absolute favorite moment in S2 so far. Loving Sam's role this season, he's doing a fantastic job.
 
One of my absolute favorite parts last night was when TJ just sat there in silence and the rest of them were sitting there no knowing what to do and the first TTS was like "You all have no idea what just happened"
