Complete derail at this point, but I was trying to remember where I heard that name before. He's a very good animator.
(Trigger warning: 100 Gecs music)

Quickly figured out it was actually an autistic tranny because a woman wouldn't have the mega autistic fixation to make animation this fluid. Not surprised he's a coomer, I guess. I feel kind of sad for him though. His oldest videos are of him playing Minecraft, probably when he was like 11 or something. Like damn the internet fucked him up lol.
You know how when you look at an artstyle you just know the artist behind it is one of the most insufferable individuals you'll encounter? This is one of those examples. This dude's art sucks

No one seems to have pointed this out, but it looks like Fred is still not giving up DtRH for his vtubing shit

Another video about a military historic event. Looking at how badly researched the May island video was at the end of the day, i can't say i am too excited about this.
dumbest fucking idea ever, fox hole is just a game where people throw them selfs at a front line for hours with no strategy. thats such a bad idea for a 5 hour video, its a fun trucking sim tho if youère into that

Please elaborate more on this Aimkid guy. From what you've mentioned it sounds like he could be the subject of a pretty funny thread/deep dive post in one of the youtube general threads
I'm not gonna say more because I don't wanna derail the thread, even if I personally think it's kinda useless but people have already posted about who aimkid was (popular furry-adjacent animator with a veru fluid/smooth style.) He has now spent most of his time on his nsfw twitter, which I have posted in the personal furry thread. No one seemed to look into it further, to see that he now spends his time working on a furry roblox vore simulator. https://twitter.com/bigsteppies

I never went down the rabbit hole on Down the Rabbit Hole, so all this is pretty new to me. All I saw was an EVE Online video that took a ridiculously long time to come out.

Why do so many animators end up being super degenerate? Is there a psychological reason?

Every forum I can find about EVE right now talks about how the game basically died in 2021, nullsec hasn't changed in years, the alliances only fight each other for the sake of it at this point, and in 2021 the game coofed so hard that numbers drop below 10,000 during the USTZ (which, to put into perspective, means that there fewer than 2 players per system). It's even worse when you realize most people are boxing 40+ accounts at a time running industry jobs and none of them are human players.

Nobody can even explain to people why they should start playing. Apparently all the PvP is in this fraction wars shit which is just players shooting each other for the sake of farming points. That is total contradiction to the purpose of a player ran economy.

Just sad dude.

P.S. I listened to the entire thing at 2x and watched most of it. It's OK. It's kind of interesting but there's no real payoff, no moral, nor real build-up. The least satisfying kind of ending that is simply "and so it continues, but less interestingly". The early parts are much stronger with some introspection into how the company basically got a big head thinking they revolutionized gaming forever. The bookend of the story is "the big alliances got really bored one day and decided to fight Goon, who won. It cost a million dollars and took 2 years."
I realize this is an old post but I'd like to chime in with my own experience of being one of the first (few?) thousand people to play the game. That monument where they recorded player names has my high school best friend's real name on there, we made the character together because we were (are) retarded faggots. That initial sell of "you, player, are the economy!" was really cool back when because the idea of a living, breathing world driven by players was talked about and never implemented. Apparently Ultima Online was supposed to have animal interactions but Richard Garriot chickened out when alpha testers committed small scale genocide against the furry creatures and destroyed the ecosystem no matter what they did to fix it.

So when EVE offered an actual economy it was this real cool thing that made you feel like a pioneer. That's actually what drove the entire game's atmosphere from player creation to combat to exploring nullsec and everything else. Whenever something new was added it gave you this sense of real excitement because you didnt know what was coming because the devs played it cool in those days and the promo videos were an event for you and the guys. There was actual hype. I think when they started to cut stuff that wasn't working it broke the magic a bit, because the devs were trying to make this complex world work and they were putting out a lot of fires. Worst part of it was you had this shit in your inventory that was obsolete and the best you could do was try to pawn it off on the market to some unsuspecting retard, but that was a core part of the game. I think everything you did made you feel like you were a piece of something.

When they lost that charm I don't know, but it happened around the time the game went from a cool space world that you were exploring and doing cool space stuff in to a goddamn space job. Nothing was fun anymore. They kept adding stuff that's fun and cool but it was in the context of this spreadsheet chasing numbers shell game that you couldn't actually win. By that point the big corporations (I was with Goonswarm for a bit) had long ago established the rules for the lawless part of space and if you wanted to play you had to go through them. I can't blame them for the demise, but making a guy sit through a no bullshit interview process didnt help the feeling that you were playing a job. Then some fat faggot shut-ins decided to lean into that and started saying things like "yes it IS a job" like that's somehow a good thing. Your alternatives were sociopathic Russians or Brazilians.

Eventually it got old and it was time to move on, so I logged off one day and didn't feel like logging back in. That had been happening more often especially after I started plotting my next build because I wanted to go back to destroyers. I never did. Eventually my account ran out and I just uninstalled the game. Off and on I decided to come back like every few years and each time the experience was worse. We went from something cool to a lot of disappointments and wound up with a hollow shell of the exciting and wonderful idea that had so much promise.

General VTuber spergery, but I always thought the lore shit they try to push made zero sense and was extra autistic because nobody does anything with it. You're just streaming games or whatever. Keeping up with the character probably just takes too much effort.
However, when I learned it was Merryweather he was working for I wasn't surprised that they did have dumb lore. Merryweather is a Danish coomer and mega-autist who does the usual faggot-loving women baiting. He also has some weird "IBS-lite" things he did in the past like this kettle calling the pot black moment . Really weird individual. Might be late and gay if people already know this.

Hopefully this doesn't derail the thread too much, but yeah I agree. And most of the vtubers who have lore, don't really follow it outside of debut. Maybe it's an idol thing?

Granted it doesn't help that his lore is, like many male vtubers, just some jrpg fantasy bullshit.

I always assumed it's to bait fan creations like fiction or roleplay and not really something the VTuber will utilize themselves.

You just made me understand why EVE had such a large player base and a large drop off and captured the disappointment of it's fall in 4 paragraphs. That's all I needed to make the pieces click, I shit you not. "It went from wild west pioneering with interesting ecconomic experinces with not much risk (as it is a game] to a literal second job when the lvl 40 wizard nerds got settled in and created their own monopolies and corporate world, eventually becoming the banality of evil in video game form (plus mmo russians and brazillians)." I struggled to understand the appeal of space game for a long time, now it clicks and now I know why it's tragic.

I'm not watching 5 hours worth of "group did this" without knowing what fun in game was at stake. Why people cared. What was and is the appeal.

He doesn't seem that bad a lolcow. Sure, retarded opinions galore, but mostly pretty tame in the grand scheme of thing.

I expect him to see this thread and become a full blown lolcow within the 2023rd year of our lord and saviour jesus christ
Seems like I was wrong. Commence the mockery.

As I said before, the "lore" stuff from what I've seen usually is just meant to be a little fun extra thing, sometimes to give a backstory to why the mocap avatar looks like they do. it's also usually really fucking short like maybe only a minute or 2 tops. Ifyou're gonna make a long "lore" video at least make it something enjoyable and not fart huffing about how facts don't matter unless when convenient and it's ok to lie/forget about history shit as the "message".'

Also nearly every other fucking vtubers' lore is just some jrpg fantasy bullshit, that ain't male exclusive lmao. This one specifically heavily fucking does that though but with some weird ass pseudo intellectual spin that makes it 101% more painful.
