The whole point of that was it was going to be a massive payday for Rekieta in terms of superchats and donos. Like Vic 2.0. There's a clip of him basically saying as much.

In reality, Monty actually surpassed him in terms of money raised (while talking far less about the case), and Rekieta recently shut down the GSG. Nobody knows why, but I suspect it has to do with how embarassing it was doing. Last I checked, the last donation was some 3-4 months ago, and it had slowed to a crawl long before then.

Not only did he not shut the fuck up, but he's simultaneously doubled down on the things he's said about Monty while trying to obfuscate what he actually said.

As to why: He's a fucking idiot. He's barely a lawyer.

The fear of being too harsh came from a more holistic viewpoint. I am sure Nick (as have millions of others) has personal stressors in his life that push him strongly to act how he does--some of it is out of his control. He probably has (or believes he does) good subjective reasons for what he does. This is where my personal sense of empathy tells me to back off.

However, because I really do not KNOW Nick, the only real help that I (and most of us) or his audeince can offer is objective critique. Most of the good points ITT are of this kind. We laugh and point out the silly things he does and should STOP doing, in the main.

There are things Nick is doing that are unquestionably stupid (e.g. Flirting with MAN-dy.) Nick has done these kinds of things for years despire criticisms and when he has taken the advice he does it with poor grace (e.g Toning down degeneracy, diversifying to Rumble/Oddysee, and drinking less) but with great personal benefit once he adopt them.

I believe Nick takes objective critiques (even well intentioned ones) as personal attacks. His protestations that 'You donot understand my life!' are very much like young teenaged artists. He cannot separate the objective from subjective critique, thus his misunderstanding of this thread and its objectives.

When it started, he was literally wringing his hands about how much audience and money he was going to get because of the case. Nick got has start with Maddox vs. Dax. He was deluded enough to think that he could leverage the case against Monty in the same way Dax used the Maddox case.

And at every step along the way where Nick's expectations about the case turned out to be wrong, Nick doubled down with his "Fuck you Mom and Dad I'm doing it my way" child-like mentality.

Talking about the case is really no more foolish than how the case came about originally. Nick very deliberately and with full knowledge did per se defamation against Monty as well as asking to be sued. Not something a sane person would do.

I think part of why he is talking about the case is his ignorance of how civil litigation works. He just doesn't understand how the comments he is making will create immense problems for him both in a deposition and in trial testimony. Or else he sees himself as such a verbal super-genius that he will be able to out-argue the attorneys in his own deposition and during trial testimony.

The other part of it is that since the start his actions have been driven by false assumptions that the case can either be easily dismissed or that he can will a SLAPP judgement. I think he has a poor understanding of SLAPP based on Vic losing to SLAPP in Texas.

He never expected:

1) That Monty would be able to hire an attorney
2) That the case would be filed in Minnesota making dismissal far more difficult
3) That the per se defamation was likely to create questions in the case only a jury could answer that would make getting the case dismissed very difficult.
4) That the case would be boring and that he would get no sympathy (money) from his own audience when he pretended to be a victim.
5) That Nick couldn't just go talk to Monty's lawyer and convince him to cease representing Monty.
6) That showing that Monty was a "retard" wouldn't convince the judge to end the case.
7) That as a "rich guy", just hiring an expensive attorney wouldn't have solved all his problems in the case. That Nick, as a rich guy, couldn't buy his way out of his legal problems.

The most insane part is that this person who is completely enslaved by his alcohol cravings, sex drive and need for attention thinks he’s some free man living the dream of liberation — or would be without a wife and kids harshing his buzz. He really thinks they’re what’s holding him back.

He deserves to lose them.

A grown fucking person who clearly is not a man and clearly not an adult acts like he's in the position to make whatever the hell decision he wants because they only affect him, but without realizing he gave that excuse up the moment he married Kayla. How does he look at the faces of his wife and children and explain that his inability to not be an asshole for a millisecond is taking away money that could be used to support them is instead being wasted on a lawsuit and not want to immediately kill himself out of shame is beyond me.

Every goddamned excuse he gives for not doing what he needs to do because it's the expectation of every man in every goddamned society in the history of time is deplorable.

He doesn't deserve to lose his family, he deserves to lose everything, because he's the worst aspects of humanity in one shitty package. He unfortunately has the legal education to try to worm his way out of just being a fucking man who does what he needs to do and does what he says he's going to do, because any other option is fucking embarrassing...and yet he chooses the most embarrassing fucking option every time he can.

Watching Crigler tell Nick he just needs to shut the fuck up and do what he said he was doing was hilarious because that's the standard fucking response, and Nick looks like he wants to kill himself when he talks with someone who decides that they don't accept his worthless ass excuses.
