This dude multiplies his money a lot, is it that common in gambling to end up with more money than you started with just to gamble it all away?
BMJ's gambling pattern will typically involve starting with $100 and betting $5, then doubling his bet when he feels like
the table is hot. This eventually results in him losing, and he will "chase his losses", losing more. However, because his betting strategy is "full retard, all the time", sometimes he goes off on crazy streaks - like hitting 63x on a $500 bet on Keno. This is probably why Stake even sponsors him. They can and will clip his huge wins where he gets $9000 off a single bet and starts dancing. It's good advertising.
To a casual viewer, he won $6000 and could have walked - what a dummy! It's deeper than that, because you know he's gambled way more than $6000 in total probably in the last week alone. His income is actually insane. $1800 a week from Stake, $5000 a month from Kick subs, thousands more variably from juicers giving him straight cash donations to gamble with. All of that goes into Stake.
He routinely doesn't have money for weed, a cheap new keyboard or headset after breaking his old ones, or a glass bong to smoke out of (he uses an apple and butane torch). His room is at his parent's house. His mom gives him supper on a plate each night. His dad buys him replacement peripherals and chairs. 0% of this money ever makes it back to his life in a meaningful way.
The real tragedy is only clear if you really zoom out on the situation. He could climb to $100k and walk way with 6 figures, but that's not really "make it" money. Through the years he's spent gambling, and the sheer amount of money he's panhandled, he will still be down from where he started even with $100k in pocket. He hits the slots waiting for easy money to come, but he's spent so much time and effort and emotional bandwidth trying to beat the game that he's worse off in every way than if he had just gotten any job.
Having an addiction to gambling has to be the dumbest thing ever. Are you really so weak willed you can’t stop throwing your money down the drain? “One more turn” says the retard as he takes ten more turns losing everything he just won. And isn’t it like gambling 101 once you hit big on a machine you move on from it and start playing another. This dumbass always plays the same stupid game on the same website. Go kick another hole in your parents house dude.
For the reasons I mentioned, I think the main hook of gambling is the sunk cost fallacy. Even when you're down a hundred thousand dollars, there's probably an unreal dread associated with walking away. Once you give it up, you actualize your losses. If you're down 100k but at the table, you can still win it all back. If you give up, you're just that idiot that spent a year losing everything he had.
