I have to say I'm noticing American politics is starting to take on aspects of English politics. When I look at Trump's biggest detractors it comes from the educated upper middle class. In many ways this is the same class of the puritans in England and the settlers.

This creates a class of people who aren't super rich but they're very wealthy to the point they can not have a bad economy affect them as much. There seems to be a large snobbish base of conservatives and neoliberals to a lesser degree which despise the working class salt of the earth types. It's kind of like the dynamics between someone who is rich vs really rich the upper Middle class and lower upper classes almost despise the poor.
