I've lurked this site since 2015, I've seen communities come and go but this one always remained the same it's always been a mess. I don't think DSP should even have a sub-forum and while this place is a cesspool, I see no difference between this place and say Beauty Parlor or any of the political sperging threads. I think it's fine people here stay in their own little corner and that there's no overlap but its Null's site and decision at the end of the day. People here should not be allowed to tag Null and Null should stay out of here if he doesn't like this shithole.

I do think this is a bit overblown as I haven't seen the people here cheer on say the Comcast guy, but I do see the constant shitting of Null.

You only seem to be responding to small snippets of the responses, ignoring the rest and then responding to people who you can just go "See, that's my point!"

Well one could say DSP is so toxic he poisons everything: his small family / fanbase as well as anyone who watches long enough. To be fair to Null this is something I picked up from GTG: the 1st gen of detractors were reasonable. They often said "Phil is stupid but I understand" The newer generation is more into the deeper analysis of Phil (like PoP with his donation analyzer or WPIG with the deep dives into Phil's past). The problem is that there are people who don't just want to watch the trashfire but actually want to pour gasoline into it. And this is something that isn't limited to DSP. Just look at what happened to Chris Chan. That was instigated by a mentally ill person. Basically people who want to claim "I sunk X" And of course there are others who want to participate in this. This is our current Social media influenced generation: people who want their own claim to fame. And unfortunately there is no easy way out. Just look who tried to sink the Farms and tried to make a name from it. And what happened to them? Turned into absolute jokes on the internet and in their own "community"

People are trying to have a productive conversation. I haven't attacked you at all. I just want the forum to be usable like the other threads I read. People are upset because the rest of the site is attacking people in this thread who have done literally nothing wrong.

Can you please detail what you would like to be told or what solution you want to reach? You asked people to tell you what they found funny about DSP which I believe has been done already.

It's frustrating for people like me in this thread because there's seemingly no winning situation for us.

I really want to be nice and not catty. You all need to use the report feature a lot more. Stickers do nothing. Calling people gay does nothing. Make the fags that mess things up unable to post their crap in your forum. In other threads, if you brag about messing with cows, people will be exposed. They are reported and found on social media. If you are in good faith, telling Josh that you all will make a huge effort to report would help him a lot.

For the future, I'm debating what to do. My goal is still to give people who actually enjoy talking about lolcows a place to post. What I don't want is to continue to allow a clique of people openly hostile to myself and the rest of the site an autonomous zone to exploit my work.

It's been said a lot before, but I think the best solution would be to collapse the DSP subforum into a few threads on either Internet Famous, Internet Tough Guys, or Grift Wars. Removing the DSP specific admins and moderating the thread just like any other would probably be best. Force the DSP users to integrate with the rest of the site, similar to the Fatrick/Wings of Redemption/Keffals users.

Can you please detail what you would like to be told or what solution you want to reach? You asked people to tell you what they found funny about DSP which I believe has been done already.

It's also a painful realization to see that even users who have been here for 6+ years don't really consider themselves a part of a broader community. It's just this board, and they post here because they hate one dude. It doesn't seem to be about anything other than making sure that DSP is not happy. I feel like I've allowed myself and my patience to be used, and I've allowed something I've worked very hard to sustain and sacrificed a lot to protect to be used and abused by people who have zero love for it.

Who exactly am I supposed to be reporting here? The comcast fag was dealt with. Should anyone that says "die phil" be reported? AnOnimous might be in trouble at that point. Should be people that call Phil's wife fat be reported?

I'd report trolling plans if I ever saw them. But they're so incredibly rare that after the Comcast guy I can't think of anyone who I *should* have been reporting.

This is just as frustrating and condescending as being told to nebulously "do better" by Twitter users at this point. No one has given us any fucking specifics (aside from literal retards like the comcast cunt who was dealt with already a long time ago) and it's incredibly hard to not get a little mati about that.

guess i'll ramble since we're havin' this discussion. I've been watching phil for about 13-14 years, longer than almost anyone here, longer than this site has existed I think. i found him when I was 14 and I continue watching him because I want to see how the train wreck will end.

is it funny when bad things happen to phil? yeah, just like it was funny when Ralph got beat up or the billions of things that happened to Chris-Chan. but that doesn't mean I think we should actively plan and organize such things. the Comcast guy was a hilarious thing that happened and my only regret is not knowing if that guy ended up in prison or not. i can't imagine anything funnier than going to prison over DSP.

that said, there were a significant amount of people in the Comcast guy thread cheering him on, and I firmly believe that those people should've either been timed out or outright banned. our mods did not do that. i see that you have demodded everyone and if the mods were not acting in the way you want this site run, then yeah, that's an appropriate action to take and I hope you can find moderators that will carry out your rules better in the future. this is one of the largest subforums on the site and we had 2 active moderators, 3 at best.

i am sorry that you feel that we respond with pure vitriol to you or hate your site, Null. I rather like this site and I try to be mindful of your position, the things you have to deal with to keep this place running. I think you underestimate just how obnoxious the people who follow you around are though, you caused a shit storm of 1000 posts of people saying this place sucks and should die. how are people who enjoy this place supposed to react? I even asked a former staff member what he thinks we should do to bring this place in line and he just told me to kill myself. How do you want me to respond to that? That's not "DSP users hate interacting with other site users" that's someone being a needless cunt and antagonizing me and I am going to react in turn.

I think your current responses are reasonable and leveled and I thank you for trying to communicate what your issue is in an adult way. I don't want you to delete this board, since phil is the lolcow I have the most personal connection to and know the most about, but I understand why you don't seem to know what to do. I hope you are able to simply find better mods, but ultimately its your site and you can do what you want, and I do respect that.

It seems that you keep attempting to label the frequent posters of DSP as a-logs. In the past year, I have only watched only 2 - 3 users a-log and not including the comcast guy who created an account just for the sole purpose of giving a minimum of 6 posts. Every lolcow thread including your beauty parlor have had a long history of "a-logs" trying to fuck with them IRL; In those situations we all have debated, banned, and shunned those who wish to prevent the milking of our cow, but now it seems like our self moderation was in vain. I recognize plenty of users who were banned recently and those whom still post in the DSP thread who are brilliant thread makers outside of the DSP discussion... And now they're being head cannon as the new A & H.

How so? I, for example, generally only follow cows who I know from the past. DSP, Anisa (Idubbbz), Jimquisition, Scalfani, Wings, etc.

I don't think you can *force* people to be interested in other cows. If you're talking about "board culture" like 4chan or something, I'm not entirely sure how possible that is either. I don't even attempt to penetrate the practically opaque culture of the Sharty thread, but I also just don't find that stuff particularly interesting or funny to begin with.

If it's rulebreaking concerns or something, then the most obvious solution seems to be to make sure that any future staff assigned to this subforum (I have no idea how this works on the backend as a disclaimer) are also active on the rest of the forum and don't only interact with this one.

If you want to provide thread regulars with a list of specific things that you'd like to see immediately reported I'm sure no one would have a problem with that either. The vast, vast majority of the users in this thread have never and will never engage in illuminati trolling plans, and only sit back and laugh at the stupid shit that happens to DSP.
