I really don't know why people are surprised by this. Anyone with even the tiniest knowledge of ~2008-2013 Tumblr women knows Viv's archetype comes with a rape fetish. I really don't get the pearl clutching, especially when the show is obviously for adults.

I don't think that's actually true in this case. The shows have edgy humor that resonates with people who were on Tumblr and Deviantart in the mid 2010s and the show is on Amazon. The shows on Nick, Disney, and Cartoon Network(not Adult Swim) made by Tumblr girls are more of a concern since they're blatantly for children. The creators have to be very aware how their writing influences children. Vivziepop on the other hand doesn't need to be. You're not going to get these shows on Disney in front of kids even if you remove the sexual themes. The logic becomes tortured and puritanical to the point were all content should be age gated via IDs and section 230 should be removed to keep children from accessing age-inappropriate content.
These shows and orbiters have a thread because it attracts the same type of Tumblr/art drama except now the content has made it "big".

We can leave it at HH and HB being a very risque type of content intended for the teenage/young adult demographic, which has been infamous for being the death of many shows until the "New Cartoon Renaissance" from the 2010s, superficially cutesy designs and plots that tackled "mature" subjects. Add that arguably the people that grew up during the last decade didn't face as much of a stigma for watching cartoons and anime and many formed a sense of community around those shows.
If you write for teens and YAs you get carte blanche as long as you are a good asset, which is very difficult to pull off. The reason these shows don't last is because they make money out of a very niche audience that is known to pirate everything they like and are very fickle. The main differentiator from legit adult animation is that most are set in escapism worlds and lack elements that may make their audience feel old. You probably already thought of a couple of shows like this, some that even aired in kids channels and you probably can count them with your hands and realized they rarely go for more than 2 seasons mostly for crappy excuses, many times for budget reasons. Some concepts find a new life with a different generation, like the Scott Pilgrim ruined a generation of women meme.
HH and HB are for YAs, extremely childish YAs but it has made enough buzz for two years and largely had the goodwill of the indie community to upset its shortcomings.

Reading the past 20 pages has inspired me to make another analytical post/rant, which I haven't done in a while. So if you're not interested in my two sense, just ignore this.

The idea of Angel Dust oversexualizng himself does make some sense if he did go through some sexual trauma. I mean, it's one of the tell signs of child abuse when child acts out sexually. Hell, in the gay community, many men have openly talked about how their first experience was with an older man when they were a minor, and that it's just kind of normal. So Angel Dust staying in an abusive situation, participating in many sexual activities, and aggressively flirting with others who aren't interested isn't exactly abnormal here.

The problem here is that Viv and the other people working on the show don't see that being the problem. Well, they see him being in an abusive situation as a problem, but they don't see that as being an effect from the real problems he's dealing with. They just think that him standing up to Val, leaving him, and getting into another relationship will fix everything, when it won't. Until he fixes the real underlying issues, he's not going to get better.

The best course of action for Angel Dust would be to not only leave the abusive situation but to also stop having sex for a while since he uses it as a coping mechanism. Just like how there are addicts for drugs and alcohol, addiction to sex is very real and dangerous. Angel Dust would need to find the underlying causes for why he is like this and find better and healthier methods to cope with his issues. And he should definitely not get into a relationship until he is in a better place physically and mentally, because that would end up terribly for both parties. But, going by the posts and likes, it seems like he will end up with Husk (who also has his own addiction and issues to work on), and everything will work out fine and dandy. Even though, he is technically sexually assaulting Husk, by making unwanted advances at him. So, great job Viv. Really showing off the gay stereotype with this one.

Jesus, I thought this whole thing would be WAY more of a slow-burn decline, not a violent implosion within the span of days. I was honestly hoping for the former, as those sorts of long-winded tales of betrayal and failure and such tend to be more interesting than the standard "someone gets their dirty laundry aired by twitter and loses everything in the span of days".
And all of this so soon after vivzie was practically living the star-studded Hollywood life she always wanted, hobnobbing and partying with her new friends in high places, singing karaoke with broadway actors and putting on a self-congratulatory nouveau riche spectacle for every public event with everyone wearing tacky designer clothes, pulling poses for the horde of camera flashes. This shit feels like something out of a movie. A real story.

Honestly, on some level I feel sorry for her. She was just an average weird fujo on the internet with dreams of stardom that got totally blinded in the pursuit, got so caught up in her own hype as an indie success story and star-studded celebrity that she lost sight of what was important. She sold out her peers, she sold out her vision, and she got too lost in the haze of getting to make her own show that she forgot to make it good, and forgot that the little people, who she used to be among, could ever possibly hold her to account. And now, sooner or later, that checks gonna come due.

Hope your days in the spotlight were worth it, Viv. No sarcasm I really do. Cause the fact that you got them at all might be the only consolation for what's coming.
