I've been following this from the beginning and see the goalposts on both sides moving constantly. This can all be boiled down to one simple statement: This is Nulls fault.
Here me out before you blow a gasket on me. It's his website. He allowed the mods to be put in place. He's chosen to ignore the DSP side of the site for a while because he hates us. That's fine, but it's your site. If you want the DSP people to integrate/participate in the rest of the site, it's on you to figure out how to do that. Instead, we get tard screeches because someone makes a joke at his expense. Then we get a long and equally tard filled screeching about justifying what we find funny about DSP. Then we get "justification" that the mods are profiting off of the site. Now, we have to all be jannies and report shit.
I come here to laugh at shit, talk about games and check the community happenings thread. Instead, All frequenters of the DSP threads get lumped into this same group of crime-committers against DSP because we hate him so much. And this groupthink idea that users need to do mods jobs is gay and any of you suggesting it seriously are equally gay. You sound like the same jannies that Null covers on his Reddit section of his podcast. I agree the mods did not always do their jobs appropriately.
@Agent Proper linked his video's in the main DSP thread. I don't agree with this, but who am I to say something? He's a mod, so must be fine.
@clothes in my closet moved a post or two of mine to this thread because I disagreed with the common theme of the Comcast shit. That being it was positive and we should all laugh at DSP's misfortune. I called it out then and still continue to do so. It's not okay to commit crimes for laughs. But again, it's not my job to moderate the thread. It's the mods and Nulls. But to be clear, the majority thought it was funny and wanted more information on it. I wasn't aware of
@Shirō Ishii doxing children. I don't really know where I fall on the "ethics" of doxing, but my gut will never accept doxing children unless it was life or death. Even then I don't like it. I don't care if it's "public" info, what good does it do for laughing at DSP? But why hasn't he been temp or perm banned? I've also taken issue with some of the users like
@Piece of Peace who constantly tard raged "KILL YOURSELF" on here and his live streams. I don't have a problem with someone taking account of DSP's money and if you do, do you know where you are? But being that unhinged needs some timing out, or removal entirely.
I know Null is busy and a lot of the above will be dismissed because of that, but all of this can also be solved easily enough:
1) Stop sperging out on your user base when you want something from them (will never happen)
2) Remove the mods you don't like and put in mods you do (happening)
3) Take some time to understand what the DSP thread Users find funny/interesting about him and participate every now and then. And not in the I'm going to delete the entire board unless you justify why you find him funny (Maybe happening?)
4) Start handing out temp bans to Users that violate the rules of the thread or the general "don't touch the cow" (Might be happening)
I fully support Null in terms of this site and his goal of keeping the Internet freeish. He's one of the few (if not the only one) trying in this manner. I found the forum through DSP, but I branched out and found a lot of topics I greatly enjoy. Regardless of what happens with all of this shitshow, I'll continue to do so. I also support changing the culture of the DSP board if needed. I like to analyze and laugh at Phil fucking up on his own. I think this is why it frustrated me so much reading dozens of pages of being lumped in with the 20 or so that did agree/enjoy those things. Shit left a really bad taste in my mouth and I guess I expected different from Null seeing as the majority of the Internet does the same thing to him. Regardless, hopefully things get better all around.
