the biggest problem i have with viv's "world building" is that WHY!!! Charlie makes the happy hotel to begin with!! if we consider the hell of HH based on dante's inferno there is a place like that already its called PURGATORY!!
also WHAT'S THE POINT OF SEVEN CIRCLE TO BEGIN WITH!! IF ALL SINNERS ARE STUCK IN PRIDE RING AND DON'T GO TO OTHER CIRCLE

viv's hell is like a minecraft modpack that added mods with no rhyme or reason and viv just keep adding more to the modlist JUST BECAUSE!!

i assume demons and sinner get stronger because how deep the circle they fall to BUT NO!! it was some nepotism magic shit.

in short viv does not keep things in mind or care to put effort in world building

We are in the 2020s and you expect people of today's age to know how to worldbuild? You're expecting too much from a generation of retards.

Man it's like all of you guys have never played a JRPG before or read a supernatural book. People have been appropriating Christian imagery without understanding it for years. Getting caught up in the shows theological accuracy is a futile endeavor because the showrunners are using it as a set dressing. There are some interesting tells though, like the fact that Lucifer was cast out for his creativity and failure to conform, where as the denizens of heaven are being depicted as incapable of seeing nuance and stuck in their way. It says a lot about Vizie's views but you might as well look at it as a fantasy setting.

Anyway, first two episodes didn't impress me. It's basically just reiterating the plot and premise. I like the added threat that Heaven poses, didn't like Helluva Boss so I'm not sure if the killing angel thing is established there but I thought it was a nice to add a time limit to Charlie's goal. Animation is noticeably better than the pilot and I appreciate the redesign of Husk being more readable even if he is still looks like hell to animate. Oh and Adam is obnoxious, honestly the most insufferable dialog I've heard in ages.

I guess my hot take is that I like episode 4 and it made me like Angel Dust more as a character. Poison is not as tasteful as Addict, it borders on pornographic and feels fetishy, but the song is a major improvement and the scene with Charlie and Angel Dust leading up to it added emotional weight. The following part with Husk doesn't do much for me but in context it doesn't sound as harsh as the audio only makes it out to be. There is a conversation before the number and it's more apparent that he's not just belittling Angel Dust.

If Charlie was written by someone with a Y chromosome, her portrayal in Episode 4 would be lambasted as misogynistic. What a weak, little bitch she has been so far compared to the pilot.

I also spotted another inconsistenty with the animation in that episode. When Angel returns to the hotel, we see Charlie (cowering at him like he'll beat her again for not listening the first time) on the couch that faces towards the bar. As Angel and Husk have their verbal spat, it cuts to focus on Angel with the couch in the background and Charlie is not there. She only reappears to cry in Vaggie's arms after Angel storms off. Maybe if most of the money was not spent on hiring Broadway actors and Keith David they could have gotten an animation team that is meticulous about how a scene is presented.

Imagine hiring Broadway actors for a show with lots of musical numbers and you somehow make the musical numbers worse than they were with the bunch of ugly nerds who were the original, better VAs.

Also it's getting way too furry. I don't even mean in having anthro characters, but it used to be the main typical furry was just Loona and the hellhounds, and now the new ones are just generic furries without the distinctive look of the original Hazbin characters.

Another animation error was during the Loser, Baby number. Angel had only two arms while dancing with Husk. Funny enough, I saw a bunch of people on Twitter praising a clip of that scene for it's spectacular animation.
