Repeating what's been said, the pacing and transitions between songs is horrendous. There's no room for anything to breathe. I'd buy the belief they were rushing themselves to squeeze in as much as possible if they hadn't already confirmed they're working on season 2.

Lucifer's voice isn't nearly as bad as I thought but I think they shrank him to make him look more pathetic, which is annoying. He was taller than Charlie in the pilot going off the family portrait. I actually liked the fake laugh-off he had with Alastor but Alastor's "fuck you" was jarring. It should be noted that it's not that Alastor never swears, because he does sparingly (as seen in his comic where he curses out Vox), but still. And so much for Lucifer and Lilith having a Gomez and Morticia style relationship.

Mimzy feels like she was shoehorned in and barely served a purpose, I don't like her.

St. Peter is ugly as fuck, why the hell doesn't he have a nose? Sera felt all over the place and Emily is just Charlie as an angel.

So the episode confirms it, the leaker was real and Adam and Pentious die in the season finale.
If Adam dies too, my bet is on Niffty stabbing him to death, since I hear she gets a kill as well. Would make sense to see her go full yandere on him of all people.

I'm starting to think the team and Viv didn't actually get confirmation of a second season until VERY late in development with the break-neck speed we're heading at in regards to pacing.
Or maybe there's a subtle clown thing going
Viv's hell has a really weird, extremely inconsistent circus vibe it occasionally tries to push, so this might just be another extension of that.

It really is. God damn it!

And now with the power of THE VERY CONTEXT YOU JUST SET UP VIVZ COMMA,
Alastor: (with a malicious grin) Well, well, if it isn't Lucifer himself. Seven years, and Hell seems just as chaotic. Or is it that you've lost your grip, old friend?

Lucifer: (his eyes narrow) Ah, the Radio Demon returns. You vanish for years, and the moment you reappear, you start tuning into business that doesn't concern you. I trust your absence wasn't too... uncomfortable?

Alastor: (laughs darkly) Uncomfortable? You should know, Lucifer, discomfort is a state of mind. But speaking of discomfort, how is dear Lilith? I hear she's been absent as well. Coincidence, I presume?

Lucifer: (his voice grows colder) Careful, Alastor. Even in Hell, there are lines one should not cross. Your games are amusing, but some pieces are not for playing.

Charlie: (steps forward, voice firm) Enough! This isn't why we're here. Alastor, Dad, please. We're supposed to be working towards something better, not tearing each other apart!

Alastor: (turning to Charlie, his tone softens slightly) My apologies, dear. Sometimes old habits resurface. Especially in the company of... (glances at Lucifer) certain individuals.

Lucifer: (addresses Charlie, but eyes still fixed on Alastor) She's right. As entertaining as this is, we have... bigger issues at hand. (to Alastor) But don't think this conversation is over.

Charlie: (sighs in relief but remains cautious) Thank you. Let's focus on the hotel and... (hesitates) and maybe we can find a solution to... other problems, too.

This is now the second draft of this meeting by GPT-4 with ~basic fucking context~

Come ON.

This is the first attempt it made. I have not edited or revised or tried or said "hey, characterization" at all.

It's better.

What the fuck.
I like this. I know only a little about the show through osmosis so who knows if any of this is in character or whatver, but demons should absolutely be catty, petty bitches.
According to a screenshot that I saw on 4chan, Nifty is indeed the one who does him in.
Does she leap out of nowhere and shank him like the Night King?

Watched Episodes 5 and 6.

Pros:

- Heaven isn't entirely evil at least, the executor designs are just edgy masks, and it seems like It's something Adam started up than anything else. So it isn't full Heaven bad, but "good is dumb" instead which while not great, it isn't full blown reddit atheist.

- Charlie seems to take more initiative, which is better than previous episodes where she is in the background and has focus on her.

- The sixth episode has a better handling of its A and B plot than the other episodes. I feel like this one was written late into development since this felt more competent.

- Visuals outside the club scene are fine

Cons:

- Pacing is fucked since some things go by too fast, with too many characters introduced fast

- While Heaven not being entirely bad is good, everything with Adam is questionable given the whole extermination thing was his idea which given his character, it feels like Heaven is not evil, but more gullible and stupid for even letting him there. Seriously I can get inviting the First Man into Heaven, but after what happened in the story of Creation, why make him someone who has this much power, especially when it feels pretty obvious he started the extermination idea to get back at his ex as Adam really comes across as an incel.

- The stuff with Mimzy felt unnatural, and it really felt like Viv just wants to have all her OCs in the show.

- Show is still vague about overlords and Alastor feels more like a Gary Stu OC.

- It feels like a lot of the characters had offscreen character development

- Songs feel like jumpscares, and the only one that felt more seamless is the one where Vaggie is outed as a angel.

- Lucifer really sounds too young, while Jeremy Jordan is a good singer and performer (he did a good job for the Death Note musical), it feels like he should've had a lower voice.

Honestly this show isn't as bad as Helluva Boss Season 2 since at least there is more consistency with what its going for, but someone really should've helped Viv revise her plot since the story she is trying to tell could be solid, but there's too much fat. Aside from Valentino, the other Vee's don't really feel needed, and could've been saved for her theoretical season 2 since it looks like this season's story is about getting Heaven to approve the whole plan.

Do have a copy of the screenshot, by any chance? This is a leak I never saw before so I'm curious.

Apparently pretty much everything this anon (or at least whoever this guy is quoting) has said has been completely on the money, so it's a bit more reliable than your typical leak. I'd bet it's some disgruntled Spindlehorse employee doing it.

I don't know who it is that voices Lucifer but from his design alone I pictured him having an unfitting deep voice:
I can't for the life of me say why.

So after watching these two episodes...Jesus fucking christ, what is this pacing? I'm glad the camera isn't a sporadic as it's been in the past episodes, but that won't save the writing.

So, from episode 5, it's definitely proving the whole "Liltih is actually Eve" plotline. I bet this will be what is focused on in season 2. Also it's been 5 months already? That's...quite a bit of time that's passed, and it feels like nothing has happened. Or anything that has happened was offscreen. Because you know. Nobody wants to see character development in a show that focuses on characters. That's just ridiculous. Also also, glad Charlie fixed her supposed '"daddy issues" in this singular episode. Literally, introduce a character only to complete their character arc in the same episode. (Sarah Stiles was good though. Can't go wrong with her.)

But episode 6, is probably worse. They keep introducing these new characters and these new conflicts, and expect the audience to give a shit about them. "Oh no, Sera and Emily are having issues because Sera didn't reveal about the exterminations to Emily and Emily doesn't understand why this is-" WHY SHOULD I CARE? I've only known these characters for 2 minutes at best. Why are you building up to these dramatic song beats when I know shit all about them?

Also, I know Angel Dust is the first patron of the hotel, but why use him as your example of a sinner rehabilitating themselves? What has been shown that Angel Dust is trying to better himself? Episode 4 just had him singing a song that he's a loser and should accept his flaws. Is that him bettering himself? Just acknowledging that he is in a shitty situation isn't the same as trying to be a better and healthier person. Maybe he has been improving these past 5 months, but we wouldn't know since we HAVEN'T SEEN IT.

And angels don't know how a sould gets into heaven? Didn't you guys make the rules? Even if God exists in this universe and he decides who goes to heaven, shouldn't at least Sera know since she's the highest in command and allowed the exterminations to happen? Doesn't that prove that she knows the rules for getting into Heaven? (Guess we'll also ignore the fact that Angel Dust is still committing a sin of overindulgence in alcohol. Or is that not a sin anymore? Eh, fuck it. Apparently, angels can cuss all they want and thats okay, so the definition of sin is not important to the plot. And glad that we just focused on Angel Dust's being a porn star as being his only sin, even though...he also was part of the mafia and has killed countless of people. Guess if that was talked about, this supposed "Angel Dust is doing all the right things to get to Heaven" wouldn't be as cut and dry as it is).

And Vaggie is a fallen angel? Wow. Who saw that coming...in all seriousness, is Vaggie really the only angel that didn't want to kill a child? All this time, no one else thought "Hmm, maybe this is going too far, even for us?" Anyway, I guess children can go to Hell then? I...okay. Sure, why not. The whole conflict of Vaggie keeping being a fallen angel from Charlie I'm sure will be solved by the next episode, cause heaven forbid we have two characters have a falling out that lasts for more than an episode. Just sing a song and all your problems get solved. What is this, Steven Universe? Actually, no. At least Steven Universe has the decency to let characters interpersonal conflicts with each other last longer than an episode. At least there was some sort of buildup.
That was a lot longer than I expected, but there was so much shit to talk about for these past two episodes. And I didn't even really delve into all the problems. I'm not even mad at the show or anything. I was even laughing at some parts, not because of jokes, but because how stupid this show is getting. It has genuinely made my day and I can't wait for next week to see how this shit-show concludes, until we get into the next dumb arc in season 2.

I do have to say I expected the Vaggie being an Exorcist to have been a reveal for Episode 7 or 8, but the whole thing felt half baked like everything else and knowing Viv I doubt it would be followed up on, like what was Vaggie's motivations for sparing the life of the Sinner child. Was this some feeling that slowly boiled within her that finally broke after killing "thousands of Charlie's people", or did she always have some standards and never killed Sinner children (or at least sinners that looked like children) and this just when her luck ran out and got caught doing it?

I would actually be interested in this reveal if the next episode's primary focus was on the aftermath of it, namely how it affects her relationship with Charlie and the people at the Hotel, perhaps interspersed with flashbacks of her slowly becoming more and more disillusioned with the whole Exorcist business, from someone who was as bloodthirsty as Lute who fully believed that killing Sinners was righteous, to just believing it was something for the greater good, to not enjoying it all but couldn't quit for one reason or another, and that Sinner child was just when she finally broke and thought 'I can't do this anymore'. But because next episode needs to set up the fight against the Exorcists and introduce Rosie, the whole aftermath will be lucky to get five minutes of screentime.

It's just one of many ideas that fans will probably make content for that's better than what Viv puts out because it would bother to explore those ideas thoroughly instead of dumping it at the drop of a hat.

To be fair to Helltaker the creator wears his intentions on his sleeve. It was made because the creator has a fetish for Dante-colored women in suits and wanted more people to draw Dante-colored women in suits.

It was all very self aware too but it still had heart.
So I guess Alastor can just beef with the king of hell and live?

Whatever man, I'm not even gonna ask why Alastor thinks it's a good idea to curse at Lucifer, because this show seems so rushed and passionless. There's no build up to anything, things just happen, and then they stop happening, like it's just a collection of connected clip shows.

Lucifer should be able to snap his fingers and Alastor should be torn apart Hellraiser styled. Im not against Lucifer being "polite" but there would come a moment that he wouldnt go into childish verbal argument and just remind the demons that this is HIS realm and they all just live in it.
So the episode confirms it, the leaker was real and Adam and Pentious die in the season finale. The one hope I have is that maybe it's going to revealed near the start of season 2 that he somehow didn't in fact die and was instead redeemed, but either way that's a long shot.

The pacing however is getting legitimately getting worse by the episode, I thought the first 4 episodes had massive pacing issues but holy shit do these two make the first four's look fantastic. Angel no longer does drugs and shit and we're now only a month away from the extermination meaning the series has now lasted 5 months in universe? That's a metric shit ton of offscreen character development that would have been nice to see and just another reason why most the events here should have been saved for season 2. In fact, why not have Charlie's big example instead be Pentious, he seems to have a lot less baggage than Angel has and you wouldn't need to have an insane amount of offscreen character development.

I get wanting to tell your story and being nervous that you might be screwed over and your show gets cancelled before you're able to finish, there's serialized shows that I loved that got canned right when the story really hooked me, but there's rushing the pacing and there's shit like this. The general story could actually be somewhat decent if Viv let things brew instead of absolutely everything coming out undercooked.

Honestly, Im starting to wonder why she even bothered with Amazon or something. The time for you to need these mega corporations for your creative projects is kind of at its end. Ironically, H.B is an example of that, its very popular and making a lot of money ( I presume) and its in no fancy streaming service. The tales of creators getting screwed over after trusting their IP to the wrong company (or simply the case that the new head of the board isnt a fan of it but they will gladly hoard it now). All you need is a good enough team (and budget).
This is the first attempt it made. I have not edited or revised or tried or said "hey, characterization" at all.

It's better.

What the fuck.

This is why they fear AI. It creates mediocre writing but, hey, so does them.

Soo Mike Knowles and daily wire are chiming in on this show and...damn to think I used to regularly listen to these guys. Look I don't like mango milkshake and hazbin is...not for me. I still just barley tolerate helluva. But these guys think vivian created the show specifically to sell Satanism to the masses. I'm legit amazed Knowles did his research and acknowledged that hazbin is an ADULT cartoon. As in they know its not real and won't see the devil or demons as heroes. If walsh gives his two cents on the show it wouldn't surprise me if he thinks it's a kids show at first...or claims kids will watch it anyways cause it was still designed to target them or some bs like that.

And as people in the comments say it's a wonder they praise South park and called it a great conservative show. Yet they don't realize south park has mocked EVERYONE. including conservatives and Republicans in the past.

Daily wire should stick to mocking trannies and sleepy Joe and leave the bitching about woke western animation and the works of vivziepop to us.
