Hans is super sorry he murdered his wife, lol. I've attached the original letter from fredrick and the response here in pdf and i'll add text to the post (formatting might be fucky).
Awww, that's actually really sweet.

Maybe instead of drawing and quartering Lennart Poettring and hanging him from a crane, he should be sent to a rehabilitation camp where he can be made to understand his crimes.

So.... question guys.

Using Linux Mint, I've suspected for awhile that there's fuckery with how it detects controllers, but now I'm positive something is up. I just streamed Super Mario RPG and the whole time I was having problems with phantom inputs or missed inputs--most commonly it would act like I pressed a direction I actually didn't, or not register I had let up.

Multiple emulators and multiple controllers have had this issue.

Unfortunately I'm streaming this for a friend and installing a different Linux would mean basically starting the game over. So can anyone think of something I should do? Like is there some driver library or something I could download or something?

Dumb question, but maybe it's a hardware issue like insufficient voltage? On my Wii U i was having similar problems with gamecube controllers connected to a generic adapter using both usb plugs in the front ports, and it was fixed by plugging them into a powered USB hub.

Two of my controllers are bluetooth and the other two use USB receivers... and I always make sure my controllers are charged so it can't be a low battery issue.

Actually I'm thinking of trying the 2.4ghz controllers again because I can't QUITE recall if those had the same issue. I also have an 8bitdo arcade stick that I need to test out. Playing RPGs with an arcade stick will be kinda weird but if it will fix the input delay issue then I'll welcome it.

what Bluetooth adapter? the cheap ones don't multitask well. I have one where headset audio quality is poor unless it's only running as a microphone or earpiece - not boith.

I had this issue using a no name 2.4ghz wireless controller. I switched over to another no name wired controller called the PXN-P50L and no more false inputs

Is your BT receiver integrated or is it like a USB dongle? I had issues until I bought a Bluetooth card that used a PCIe slot

I actually tried both--the laptop (an ASUS X712) has integrated bluetooth but I also have an 8BitDo retro receiver which allows bluetooth controllers to work on old consoles... but has a plug so it can also be a receiver for USB.

Same results both ways.

Still have yet to test the 2.4ghz controllers or the arcade stick (which has a 2.4ghz mode).

Do you have the steam-devices library installed? I've been using that with my DS4 over Bluetooth on Mint 21.3 and have had no issues with it. I'm not sure if it installs if you're using the Flatpak client, but I had to install it for the standard Mint package install.

Nope. I don't have Steam-anything installed as I've never used Steam.
Maybe try updating the firmware on the controller. My 8bitdo was having trouble on my Steam Deck until I updated the firmware on the controller. You can also try the latest kernel on Mint. It should be version 6.5. Mint stable runs a couple versions behind so depending on the controller's or transciever's age, you might be having driver issues while a newer kernel might have better drivers either for the controller or the bluetooth transciver. The software manager in Mint lets you install new kernels and let's you revert if you're having issues. Anything past that is beyond my experience. Steam solves a lot of these random issues gaming on Linux, so you could use it as a last resort.

stop playing video games also stop streaming on discord tranny

Do any of you use a duel monitor setup? Using EndeavourOS and it seems finicky whenever I am playing games and having a video going on the 2nd monitor. Sometimes my cursor in-game will go over to the second monitor, sometimes the video is choppy, and sometimes my game likes to re-open on the second monitor after minimizing from the primary. There anyway to make the duel monitor experience better?
