Unpopular Opinions about Video Games

I've always liked to think that fighting games benefit from "lore", but not really a story

But even then, it isn't strictly necessary. I couldn't even read when I first played Mortal Kombat. I just thought these ninjas and shit fighting each other was cool, and when the yellow ninja ripped his face off and torched a dude it was the coolest shit my 3 year old brain had ever seen.
How could the lore or story be explained when they have crossover/DLC characters? I suppose this goes into not overthinking the whole concept if it makes tonal sense in context.
It barely even has a premise or a theme or a concept. It's less coherent than Tetris or something.
Actually, there IS a concept. 3D, Medieval themed DOOM. There.

I'm pretty sure no "soliciting" occured. Iirc, she lied on a form or something, it was entirely unintentional.
I said "practically." It's a trivia game themed around party girls flashing their bodies when you get a question right. One of the girls is underage. They sold it as entertainment. Therefore, it's solicitation, even if they found out after the fact.

Not "practically" either, the production didn't set out to include anything but adults, and consumers didn't expect anything but adults.

If you really wanted to play Slop Ops: The Lops, you've had like the entire past decade to buy it cheap. Gamestop still has it listed for $10 on 360 and $7 on PS3. I got it on Steam for free when Humble Bundle gave it away.
Oh, forgive me for not buying it on sale because I did not expect it to be delisted for whatever reason. Should I do what The Completionist did and buy every title digitally so i won't miss out? I love being coerced into FOMO to obtain a title that is on life support because it COULD get delisted for whatever reason.

Aren't there physical copies, and probably pretty cheap too? I imagine it isn't impossible to emulate either, it's a 7th gen title, right? I'm sure pirating the PC version is even easier than that.

If it was a good or historically important game I'd not like it being delisted, but it seems unimportant, and since it's relatively attainable currently you in particular have nothing to complain about, really. From a preservation standpoint, on principle, I suppose it should be easily available in a legal form, but nothing to get pissy over.

I looked on ebay, and there were actually only a handful of copies I could find for 360. Maybe 3 or 4 around the 30 dollar range, but one asshole is trying to sell it for 300.

It's reputation may lead to it booming in price now, unfortunately. If someone were to want it now would be the time to grab it it seems.

Aye, it was basically just proto-SJW trash like what we'd come to hate during and after Gamergate.
Isn't it just a retelling of the story know as "The heart of darkness" in a middle east setting? I haven't played it but that's what I heard.

It's Heart of Darkness, but "retold" by shitty SJWs who hate gamers and set it in India (I think) Dubai after a massive sandstorm.

@xXx: State of the Union - Do it, so you can smash the copies on camera.

That's a little more expensive than expected, I thought it would be between $15-$20. It's definitely the time to get it while the price is still reasonable. $300 is nuts though, must be a price speculator or something.

Is there some committee in washington that mandated everybody switch from the old female/male selection toggle to the type 1/ type 2 body nomenclature one day? I didn't hear any news or anyone talking about anything but all of a sudden it seems every Western game from AAA to indies switched over seemingly all at the same time.

Apparently Japanese games do it too, like Pokemon, Eklen Ring, and Palworld. I hate it with passion.

It's funny to watch them justify it when you ask what body type can be topless (Male) and which can't be (Female)

Unpopular opinion: Doom 3 is not a Doom game and should not have carried the Doom name.

counterpoint: Doom 3 is an excellent reimagining of the franchise and contains all of the fundamental elements of the original games, with vastly better environment design and a timeless art style. the common complaint about it being too dark to play is nonsense, light and darkness are a very intentional and well-designed mechanic. all enemies are sound and light sources, much like the original Doom you have to play strategically rather than just mindlessly blasting shit. in summary:
