I'm not so sure he even really snapped yet. People with NPD externalize all their faults and problems, so as long as they have a partner, kids, coworkers, employees or something to abuse/push their problems onto, they do reasonably fine. So maybe Pat blaming everything on his supposed stalkers probably is a cope that works at least somewhat for him. True decompensation might happen when, idk, there is a longer power outage or he gets banned off of twitter or something.

Elderly care homes or the like are full of people with NPD who have been left by everyone after the abuse got too much (kids moved out and ceased contact, spouse leaving or dying, retirement maybe if they were able to abuse people at work) - they deteriorate quite quickly, become unable to function (basic hygiene, chores, doctors visits etc), might become more delusional or their delusions become more apparent, and they pretend or truly get some form of early dementia. Seeing that stuff is why I don't feel too sad about old people who never get visitors, many are sadly assholes.

It may tug at your heart strings to see lonely old people fall apart on every level, but never forget that those boomers have ruined the lives of countless young people and would never be in those nursing homes rotting away if they hadn't pushed everyone else out of their lives. Like you said, they were shitbags at work and their own children want nothing to do with them, and a human just plain does not reach that point by accident.

Fatrick likely recognizes this on a subconscious level, and thinks he's winning by using the slow suicide method to avoid this sad end.

I've never worked a tipped wage job but I still know that employers have to compensate cash wages up to federal minimum wage if an employees tips don't reach that. However, I've never met a dirt poor server like that, maybe broke after expenses (drugs) but everyone I know who have had tipped service jobs made decent money for the job.

If Pat wasn’t such a lifelong lazy POS, it almost sounds like he was once the least likeable waiter of all time and was rewarded accordingly. But I can’t imagine his ego allowing him to do anything helpful for anyone, even for money.

The only problem with these tippable jobs is you make good money but usually spend it all on drugs.

Fuck you @Judge Holden, Patrick entered my dreams too now. You've created a cognitohazard.

Luckily I didn't meet him in person there, but in my dream I was reading a newspaper and came across an article about Patrick being found dead in his apartment, two weeks after his passing, when his neighbors started complaining about "worse than usual" smell. It was noted that cops found his corpse sitting at a computer with Twitter opened. Assumed cause of death was a blood clot/heart attack from getting too upset at atalker children.
