Its just a re-badged megapro, so there was no reason it would be "bad". No matter how much work LTT claims to have put into it; most of the work was done by megapro for decades.
Yeah, the stuff that's done very well on the screwdriver (the ratchet) is Megapro. The stuff LTT did themselves (the bit holder) ended up a mess.

For $70 the product should survive a 1000 falls from the top of the elevator dude's hoistway. The LTT Screwdriver isn't a bad product, it's just extremely overpriced and not intended for anyone except a limp wristed computer nerd who will lay it on a satin pillow after using it to install their motherboard.
For $70, a screwdriver should be able to survive falling off of a 6' ladder. Comparing it to matco/snapon/etc. is idiotic because yes those tools are expensive but they can take a damn drop. And if it can't survive jayztwocents dropping it from 6' onto carpet, is it going to survive falling off of a countertop onto concrete? It's not a tool, it's shitty consoomer merch.

What I do on my day off? I make my employees work on my house!

I'm only like 4:30 in and it can't be code to pull an extension cord like that.
Linus, you'll have to pry my Sponsor Block from my cold dead hands. Your shitty shills and ad bloated videos are the worst on YouTube, and the reason the project even exists in the first place.

I've tried an LTT screwdriver, and while it's decent, good lord is it overpriced for what it is. My weapon of choice is this guy from Milwaukee:

In-handle bit storage, easy to switch ratchet, very sturdy and comfy in the hand. Only two things the LTT has over the Milwaukee is the backdrag on the ratchet (it's fairly stiff on the Milwaukee) and the knurled bit on the shaft.

Oh, and the best part?

It's only $20 at Home Depot lmfaoooooo

They also make a Stubby version for $18 get absolutely wrecked Linus

Once again i improre you all to join the 12v driver master race. I can't understand people fucking around with ratchet drivers for PC building purposes. they're total crap since the tension required to activate ratcheting is the same required to fasten the screw and the pitch is so fine and short that the ratcheting will never be used.

Ratcheting screwdrivers are a low iq purchase for PC work.

Bosch PS21 - $, brushed, basic and reliable, cheap to buy in a nice kit with 2 batteries and an impact on sale several times a year

Bosch PS22 - $$, brushless, soft-start, lower power, shorter than ps21, discontinued, but the best one for electronics/computers since it's very gentle, if you can find it
p_1001023148.png

Bosch GSR12v-300hxn - $$, brushless, way more powerful, 1/2 inch shorter so you can actuate the chuck with pinky, needs trigger discipline, loud, but much more useful around the house thanks to extra power

I suppose Milwaukee fuel m12 and 12v Dewalt Atomic are also good but Bosch has the best combo of size, ergos and price.

Dunno why the fuck you would need a powered driver for pc work, nigga I just use my chink shit jewlers set I have with the extendo cock for that. I'm not busting out my wilfuckee tools for pc work.

aint got time for that shit. this little fucker will save 30% time expecially on disassembly.

Get nice magnetized long-ass bits too and you'll be unstoppable.

Regardless, if you're gonna spend like 80$ after shipping for the Linus Dildo/Driver spend an extra 10-20 and get the fucking bosch driver

Good luck trying to get that drill driver in tight spaces inside a lot of cases to reach fan screws, unless it's like the Corsair 7000D. Most normal, non soy people also don't need to buy a LTT tranny driver or a Bosch driver, because they will already own at least one suitable screwdriver already.

2:43 faggot Linus thinks interlacing video information with his screwdriver shilling is a cute way to evade being sponsorblocked. I haven't watched a Linus video since Steve Hiroshima'ed them and 3 minutes in he's more obnoxious than I last saw.

Not sure if he's spoken on it but I bet he uses sponsorblock himself. It's one of the necessary tools to dehomofy youtube and make it useable nowadays.

Yeah, it did well in that video, but he's testing the tolerances of it, I don't recall he drop tested it. The issue is the way that the bit holder is designed, where it uses thin pieces of plastic to wrap around and hold onto the bit. There's just not a lot of support when the screwdriver hits the floor and all that force is now on the thin plastic.

I don't know how you spend so much time sperging over the shape of the handle or the feel of the ratchet mechanism, but don't bother giving it a few whacks on the bottom to see whether the plastic just sheers off. That having been said, they may have been unlucky as for this soy latte, it took 23 goes for his to sheer off in the same manner https://youtu.be/KshnaA_qFnE

The comments are enlightening

Not pictured: piles of cope posts from LTT fanboys claiming surviving a couple dozen drops is something to be proud of.

What's wrong with using normal screwdrivers? I have a set of Mac Tools screwdrivers in various types and lengths, the long-reach ones are perfect for fitting mainboards in PC cases, and the short stubby screwdrivers perfect for where there is restricted space.

They don't have the LTT brand on the side, how are you going to show off your favorite youtuber loyalty to your empty living room without a branded product?

Ever notice that the gamers nexus screwdriver set is non-ratcheting? There's no need for ratcheting when building a PC.
