I remember when Obama was elected - I'm a white dude and it was a big day for me (I was a kid in my defense and completely ignorant about politics) and remember driving around thinking what a monumentous day it was playing My President by Young Jeezy. Everyone thought shit was going to change and that it was the start of a new era (it didn't change but you know what I mean). Obama represented charisma, youth, change - people loved him. His celebrity status was absolute. He was a beacon, an icon, a symbol of hope. Obviously we know how it ended up turning out but at the time what I'm saying is that the first black man becoming president was such a huge fucking deal - as it rightfully should have been - and people forget just how insane it was.

It's going to be fucking hilarious when the first woman president - something that should also be an equally huge deal - gets there with a shrug and a technicality because she was tacked on a ticket for her tokenism. zero charisma, goofy, no support. And Kamala being the first woman president is going to take that moment away FOREVER for any future good woman candidate. Which is hilarious. But fuck American women, its what they deserve anyway.

If Obama had anything going for him in 2008 it was a masterful use of a crafted image and narrative. Very good messaging all around for sure. It probably helps that McCain and Romney weren't all that charismatic and at times greatly detached from their own voter base in their own campaign by comparison. Nowadays the media apparatus that gave America the propaganda blitz and broadcasted hollow promises of "change" and "hope" from a career politician isn't as powerful as it used to be.

If a bunch of celebrities came together and did this for Kamala or Biden today it would result in endless mockery.

What we need is some type of cognitive and health test.

Fair enough, that would also work, although I still think the long hours required for the presidential office are too much for elderly people. But I suppose if you have a capable vice-president (so not Kamala) that's less of an issue.
And don't get me wrong, I believe there should be a lower age cut off too. People need some life experience to be able to be a good president.

No, an age limit isn't needed. Trump is fine. He isn't too old. What we need is some type of cognitive and health test. Something that can be trusted. Age doesn't matter as much. I have seen young people that don't make any fucking sense. But older people that do. We could also throw some type of intelligence test in there as well.

I've said it a million times, but conservatives genuinely think that actually running the government is the Democrats' job. Their role is merely to ensure the taxes aren't too high and the spending doesn't run out of control. They will gladly hire and appoint Democrats to run things so they can avoid doing anything themselves. Even in R+25 states, all the people actually operating the government are Democrats. If you ask a conservative why this is, they'll usually go on some retarded tirade about how "you can't fix big government with more big government."

When I was in university I was knocking boots with this girl for awhile who was in the education program. I once sat with her and her friends working on some education class assignment about lesson planning.

It was the most retarded shit and I was stunned it was in a college course at all. It would have legit taken me 5 minutes to complete the task they were given as a group project that took a month.

She was cute but dumb and her friends were also all stupid. That's when I realized that all teachers are these people.

Pondering what happened between the drop of the 'Biden is too brain dead to stand trial' report and the decision to do a press conference on it. Did Biden want to defend himself and some faction was like, 'alright, he pulls it off and looks good, great for us. He falls on his face, we now have an out' ? That report fucked things up more than I ever hoped it would. I personally thought it would say something to the effect "Documents get shuffled around quite a bit in the hectic transition out of the WH, these got mixed up and ended up in Biden's garage and offices, no charges." Dems would have smug posted, repubs would have mumbled about the special treatment of the dem president, and nothing would happen. This report though, either the justice department is making up a massive lie about the president being incompetent to stand trial after straight up saying he's guilty as hell but we refuse to prosecute but totally not just because he's a democrat, or Biden as we have all speculated has nanna pudding in his skull case. Neither is good and actively harms the legitimacy of our government. Which is it? Is the DoJ so biased that they will make up ridiculous lies to protect a political party, or is Biden so far gone he can't even function to stand trial and MUST be 25th'd?

Part of me wishes that Biden's "that motherfucker at the DoJ is lying, I'm perfectly fine" speech had been the most articulate, well spoken thing he's ever done in his life, it would have completely obliterated the last illusions of legitimacy the DoJ had.
